Gross operating weight

I posted this picture elsewhere and was asked what the gross operating weight of the tractor unit was.

Your help would be welcome.

Is it a trick question on the basis that the axle is lifted?

If it isn’t then maybe the DCPC really is needed, assuming your LGV C+E & therefore (allegedly) qualified to drive something similar.

3+3 axles …Probably 44000kg …depends if the owner has downrated it but I would doubt it.

This unless it’s a trick

No tricks.

The Gross operating weight of the rig is 44tonne but the gross weight of the tractor would only be about 22tonne as it is fitted with a “Lite-Lift” mid-lift axle which while being a weight saving device has a lower permitted weight than a standard mid-lift.

The mini mid axles are normally designed and plated for about 4.6 tonne plus 11500kg plus 8100kg.

With a tri axle bogie giving you 24t then the vehicle is well within its capabilities for 44 tonne operation as shown
