mate ofmine does week on week off rota gets 275 a month
has to get to 40 call outs then he gets overtime rate as well
is he mad
Did you miss a number? That’s a 2 shift pay, not 2 week pay
he ggets 275 a month on top of basic wage does
I week on call 24x7 then week off call then back on call and
so on . if he reaches 4o times being called out 3 hous per call out .
then overtime kicks in 275 is before tax
First it was 275 and then it was 275 on top of basic.if it wasnt a good rate he wouldnt do it.he should also get a stand by allowence if not he is getting ripped off
I will get more info sorry
From what I can gather you mean the 275 is the basic call out ontop of his normal monthly wages.
So potentially the equivalent of less than a tenner per day to sit at home, foregoing the pub and whatever else at weekends, waiting for the phone to ring if it’s a bit icy? Now fair enough, someone’s got to drive the grit wagons, but the council or whoever operate them should be paying a decent rate for standby drivers.
I went out with a radiographer once, and whilst that line of work isn’t comparable to driving a truck the callout money paid by a private hospital ten years ago was a lot more than £275 per month, and that was only for weekends.
i used to get £120 a week standby ,then £80 a run ,so good times when it snowed and we did run after run
i only did nights and weekends from the start of november to the end of march on top of my day job
gave it up a couple of years ago after 18 years at it
Is it through a agencey or direct
they pay him 275 per month less tax whether he goes out or not
when he reaches 40 call outs he then gets overtime for each
call out there after . they pay the 275 all year round he
also has to do 2 weeks on call in summer time diesel spills etc
