Gritter drivers threatning strike action

Why do these people strike?

Surely, if you don’t like the job / pay / conditions, you move on?? Oh, that’s right, there’s nowhere better than where they’re working, but they want to moan anyway… [zb]!!

Personally, if I had strikers, I’d [zb] them off and recruit new people who WANT to work there, any grief off them like tribunals and [zb], and it’d be cheaper to send a couple of heavies around to have a chat.

I’ve heard the fire brigade are going on strike on bonfire night this year… :imp:

Before you go to heavy handed on the fire brigade on their strikes, a friend of mine is a very senior in the service and having a chat with him, the problem is alot deeper than what the general public know about…to put it simply, the service is actually being [zb] upon, they’re not just whining for fun.

And that makes it ok to endanger peoples lives on the busiest day of the year they have.

Why not go on strike in feb when nobody needs them - except the odd cat stuck up a leafless tree.

Please tell me you’re not serious with that question■■? It’s like asking why BA staff choose to go on their strikes during the busy travelling period instead of the quiet February times. Put it this way…If you as a trucker wanted to go on strike…would you seriously do it when times are quiet and no one would really notice or would you do it during the busiest times to get more coverage of your cause? If you chose option A then you’re simply retarded!

Besides, there’s civilian companies in place to pick up the slack if they do strike…another thing that the media haven’t been so hot to put in the press. Perhaps it would be better if you actually thought about the bigger picture instead of latching onto the first thing you hear/read about…you don’t by any chance read The Sun do you?

I have never had the need to go on strike, if I don’t like the job, I go and find another.

Just because you’ve never needed to go on strike, doesn’t mean its the same for everyone else. If you’re a fire fighter and that’s you’re only trade it’s not like you can just go and work for another company…and before you say it, if you’re being paid a decent wage with decent shifts and so on…wouldn’t you rather fight for it instead of just leave to work for £6ph?..Again, a little forward thinking on your part is advisable.

Nah mate, at the end of the day they can get a job elsewhere, and if they’re on a decent wage and decent shifts…

Airports need firemen, as do private fire firms, and other places too, so don’t give me that ■■■■.

Typical English moaning ■■■■■■ just want to ■■■■■ and moan all the time, whether it be fire fighters, gritters, BA staff etc…

the firefighters proposed strike is nothing to do with pay, its to do with changing shift patterns as it will interfere with there second jobs!

Apart from fire fighters as they now call themselves, who else can clock on then go to bed after spending a half hour polishing the wagon.

Container drivers, reefer drivers, Highways Agency works vehicles probably loads more. Maybe they should tie themin a chair and drip water on their faces to stop them napping and that way they’ll always be ready for a call?

One wasn’t on strike today. I saw one today afternoon on M6. He was gritting. Yes, I saw the machine turning. I did not saw the grit too much though due to the rain, my wipers were barely managing on the full speed…
