Greencore Warrington

Has anyone been to this dump yard that is not suitable for artics mouthy goods in staff.

I’ve been quiet a few times, we put the flt’s in there, I’ve never had a problem with the staff.
Granted the yard or if you go to the far site the lack of a yard is a pain but I think that’s in hand with the building works going on there.

I was the night fridge man there in the nineties

(Used to be called Food Enterprises then).

Same here, never had an issue. It has always lacked for space but it is more than “suitable” and, compared to thousands of other places, positively enormous.

Used to tip in there on a regular basis .
Sometimes they would ask you to shunt a trailer off a bay for them .
It was a bit of a pain dropping and lifting dropping and lifting but the guys there always made it worth your while with a few ready meals .
Never had a problem and always considered it one of the better drops that I had to do .

Seems to be an ongoing theme for all Greencore yards to be just about big enough to get onto a bay

Well the one in Warrington haven’t got a bay for goods in just a yard with a builders fence one side and a security fence the other and they expect you to turn it around in the yard then moan when you knock the builders fence over. I tried to explain to management there and all they say I can turn my van around

What, they moaned about that ■■ Just no sense of humour some folk !!

Ever tried the Park Royal Greencore one in London? No probs with staff who are very helpful, but with all the skips there and other bits its a nightmare to reverse an artic into a bay, esp the far one.

Worksop (Manton Wood) isn’t too bad although production site has less room and bay 2 is interesting - recommend dropping on bays 8/9 then going into goods in which is hidden behind one of the fridges. Hardest part is not hitting the security shed on the way out at night. Don’t expect a quick load / unload at night (3 hours last night and thats working for Greencore).

Smethwick at Brum sounds similar to Warrington, no bays and yard is full. Best park outside, go see goods people not office and they’ll move vans around for you if you nice. Will also watch you in.

All Greencore factories yards I’ve been to are dumps that basically are so filthy they make you want to stop eating. Drums of tomatoes kicking around the one at Selby.

In that case, you won’t want to eat sarnies, readymeals and such from Boots and Aldi and don’t ever eat weight watchers as they all seem to be produced there plus no doubt various others but those are the ones I’ve seen. When I was at Manton Wood production they seemed clean enough, but very wasteful as there was loads chicken looking product all going in a tipper truck all night.

At Selby they make sauces like Dolmio type stuff (not Dolmio BTW) and it did impact my buying decisions.

Manton Wood is across the road from a place I used to deliver to and is pretty much the exception that proves the rule however the one just down the road in Wales is a different story.
