Green fencing

Thing is as you have said motorway services don’t want us there fence us in miles away from the buildings don’t provide decent showers or places to eat etc.
Yet you think how much they make from us a night basically free money £30 a night roughly to park up.dont cost them anything as don’t pay for security or anything.
Thats £30 a night say 50 trucks a night that’s £1500 a night each services. Say each service station brand has 10 sites across the country that’s like over £15k a night for doing nothing easy money.
Just imagine the losses if we didn’t stop there
If I ever come.into some money I’m going buy some land and charge you lot to park up good way to make your fortune

Thing is mate good parking sites are getting less and less, there wouldn’t be any room for regular MSA parkers to park,.even if they wanted to boycott these places.

To put it in a nutshell as far as overnight parking is concerned,.(and apart from trampers….)

NOBODY but NOBODY GAF.! ! …..end of.

Mate of mine tried that as part of an investment consortium for a services near Bristol. Almost pulled it off, had the site pre-approved, Police were happy, construction wagons and so on were there on the Monday just before the site was to open for construction… My mate was the overseer, ground-coordinator. Stood to make it his legacy retirement job after a few years, but fate threw the brick in his face as just before the zero-hour to start… Council muppet-lackey rolled up… One resident had blocked the permission at the last minute…

Why doesn’t that suprise me

It feels to me that more trucks are parking in the car sections overnight. I think its standard procedure at Cobham, but a couple of times ive pulled into Chieveley around 5 or 6am there has been artics in the car park. I’d be expecting a fine from them but perhaps its deemed ok.

Noticed it had taken a bit of a toll on the kerb.

I avoid services wherever possible. I think I’ve only stayed at Bothwell and Cherwell Valley this year. I always thought Bothwell was a horrid place. Until I tried Cherwell Valley at half 7 one evening. No where to park, and food that once barked, it was definitely not beef. Robs bang on, the government require these services to provide a minimum number of spaces for heavies.

Back to the main topic though. ■■■■ knows who’s selling this green fencing, but they must be the richest person ever, its been sold to every government controlled asset going! HS2 have dropped concrete walls for this stuff. Schools are lapping them up to either keep the kids in, or the nasties out, and as for the truck parks, they’ve all got mysteriously bent posts at around T bar height!

I’ll stick to the truckstops. People slag the likes of Lincoln Farm, Newark and Chesterfield off, but at least they’re consistent!

Whetherby Services has those green-fences around the wagon-zone, but it makes the area within noisier I think. I part away from it in the Coach area, which after about 6pm is usually devoid of most coach parties. Coach areas are the quieter parts of truckstops in general.

Many cars do the same in truck lanes too, then they get ■■■■■■■ and wonder where it all went wrong.
