Hullo Fly Sheet , Crikey I´ve just had another peep at those photos, Mike Jameson, yes you can just see him in the background, behind Les. I heard that he´d passed away (R.I.P.), I remember him very well, he was on for Jack Harris, Essex International for a fair time, he was even in the office there for a while. The last time I saw him he was in a brand new DAF and working on Kentvale. The bloke with the hammer, Dennis, Christ I would never ever have recognised him, I first met him when he was on Forest Frieght, then he was on Mavertons, I actually worked with him for Don Alexander for a year. That really is a surprise, is he still on the go ? And yes maybe we shall meet up sometime mate, although I only work in the Summer and that is mostly Asda work out of Middlesbrough, to Asda regional distribution depots, I´ll look out for you though, I could always do with somebody buying me a coffee.
Cheers, Archie.

Hiya Archie, see your peepers are seeing things now, Dennis is still going up & down to Greece I think he’s got a SS DAF at the mo, Les is still on the job too I saw him on the A1 last week heading south he drives a DAF too I doubt you’ll see me in ASDA unless there building a new 1 but the coffee will be on me anyway if we do. I had 1 of Dons old Transcons for a bit, he serviced my truck a few times too.

Hullo again Fly Sheet,
Don had four Transcons, I think we all drove each of them at some time or another, Chinky had the Yellow one mostly, Dave Johnston had the red one, I think Keith ended up with that, Dennis or Peter Lemon had a White one each, I had a DAF he borrowed from CRM Fuels, the old White F88 that he used to drive, then he helped me to get a Dutch spec Transcon. You must have got him to Service your truck up at the Farm then, what a place eh ? Then off to the office, The Queens. at Buckhurst Hill. Good old days, what ?
Cheers, Archie.

Archie

Last time I spoke to Tommy Redman he phoned me from Belgium he was working for some freight company in the Office ,what he is doing now I havn’t a clue .would be nice to talk to him again,I remember we were stuck together some where and he was cleaning out his Truck ,which was something quit rare he found a bunch of the black banyans on the top bunk they must have been a year old ,he chucked them out on the ground and 15 mins later called me over to help him with something I didnt see the banyans and went flying ,cracking my elbow ,it hurt like hell ,but it was so funny at the time

Roger

Hi Archie, he was hanging out at Leggets Tspt when he serviced my truck & he did it a Dave Burlinsons spot in Weybridge too.
I bought a reddy orange transcon that was his FWC 177Y I think its number was, it was a monster of a thing but got wrecked in a yard where I was keeping it so off to scrap it went which was sad really as it was a real lorry.

Hi Fly Sheet, I knew the guy with a hammer looked familiar but I would never have guessed it was Dennis the Rat even though I sold him my transcon which I think you bought after that he must have put a bit of weight on in that picture.
