great bear distribution

any body and experience with this company have applied for a job with them on a class 2 delivering tyres, any help please

Only did 1 day for them (agency). Was told 8-10 drops round Derby… got there & it was 18 drops round Derby & Nottingham, obviously all handball!

Dunno if it was a case of none of their drivers fancied the run so give it to the agency guy or if they’re all like that?

Finding the drops wasn’t much of a problem, I just asked the guys I was at how to get to the next & they were pretty much all close together.

Still had to push it to get them all done (didn’t manage it, brought 2 drops back) & boy was I knackered

I did some tyre work for Exel on the Bridgestone contract, found it fairly easy once you’ve been there a week or two as you soon get to know where all the drops are. 20+ drops can sound quite scary to start with but you’ll often find that many of them are only half a dozen tyres or less and you can often do 4 or 5 drops without driving more than about 10 miles so you soon get through them.

Don’t know anything specific about Great Bear though, sorry.

My mate works for them out of Michelin at Stoke. Hes only just passed his test and loves it, get same runs pretty much every day pay is not too bad, and is usually done for around 15.00-16.00.

I works for them in the office at Stoke, so lincoln… you’ll be in the out station. (nice and out the way  )

They certainly keep the agency drivers in work, the amount they have! :unamused:

Basildon was a nice office to work in and generally moral was quite good. Same as drivers based in other outstations like Motherwell, so should be alright
