Pardon my ignorance, why is it you see euro bulkers with two grain hatches on the back door, is it a different set up for tipping grain etc… on the continent?
Called a grain hatch but not always used for that - they are very handy for dropping tarmac into a wheelbarrow.

That would have to be one hell of a wheelbarrow to take 30t of tarmac

Well, up north
I meant dropping it a barrow load at a time ya big tattie!
On tarmac tippers, multiple hatches mean multiple wheelbarrows can be loaded. On grain bulkers, it would make tipping say wheat in a flour mill much quicker. That’s if the wheat feeder can take the flow. I think at Matthews only one hatch is used as our feeder is quite small although the Robinsons of Worcester drivers can say more on this.
Talking of mills, hats off to artic drivers tipping at Bowerings feed mill at Bridgwater…
It’s for a more controlled discharge if tipping into an elavator with a small pit, onto a conveyor, auger and so on.
There used to be two hooks on them so you could bag the load off, like a Weeks farm trailer.
Bagging off now has a new meaning.

Matthews at Shipton is one hatch only you’re right and slow at that! Tip regularly at Bowerings and got to admit its not the best.

Nice small intake at your place…can take a while tipping but Harry makes it enjoyable
Bowerings…piece o’cake
Don’t get to see too many artics tipping at Shipton nowadays; Too many 12 or so hour days, more “Job” than “Knock” unfortunatly.
