GP messed up medical form

Passed medical for licence renewel 13th March . Dvla pulled licence 6th April because gp put bad eyesight on form by mistake. Not worked all week passed new eye test with 20/20 vision at optitions. Still waiting on dvla to start licence. Does anyone no how I can complain and get compensation for lost earnings it’s doing my head in!

go on then i’ll be first.TROLL ALERT. :unamused:

Not troll m8 just fed up not working after doctors mistake.

If you have passed the eye test and you have submitted it you should be able to drive straight away. Phone DVLA ask if they have received new test. Good to go

Same thing here.
I’m a Type 2 Diabetic under a 3 yearly renewal.
DVLA are slow but my doctor screwed the medical up and it came back. Licence expired while they had it.
Section 88 says I can drive providing the condition hasn’t got any worse and that the Dr hasn’t told me not to do so.
Got it back day before yesterday 2 months after it expired.
How is the OP trolling?

For the money the thieving barstewards charge you shouldn’t have to check it. Supposedly professionals.

I think the thing we’re all learning is get the form sent in as early as you can , is it 60 days , if I’d of done that id not of had 6 days unpaid leave that could possibly be 11 days , and id assume the op wouldn’t be in the same situation

Mistakes happen from time to time regardless how much money is involved, nobody is perfect, unless your an exception
Where forms of importance are involved you should always check them through,as it could be,as in this case costly.

So you check any medication prescribed in case he made a mistake. It’s a bloody multichoice form not the magna carta

You paid your GP as a private client for their professional services, your GP messed up causing you a loss. Your GP must by law have Professional Negligence Insurance, if your GP works alone speak to him/her if they are in a larger practice there will be a practice manager, speak to them and explain what happened and the consequences, hopefully they will do the right thing, if not ask your local Citizens Advice Bureau for advice, they will point you towards the nearest specialist Professional Negligence solicitor. You may need to find a new GP though.

The last medical I took before I retired cost me £120 at my own GP. When I got home with the form, I saw that she had answered two questions wrongly - said yes instead of no. I went straight back and asked the receptionist if she could get it corrected. I took a spare blank with me too, just in case. I had to be quite firm with the staff before they would do anything - “Leave it with us and come back in a couple of days…”

Eventually, she condescended to take it to the doc and eventually came back with it. This time I stood there and checked again; sure enough, it was still wrong - one error was not corrected. I had to stand there fuming while she sulkily took it back.

I wrote to the practice manager but all I got back was an apology.
