is there any company that will take you on and then put you through your cpc. as I said the cost of this the major thing stopping me from returning to driving.
Winseer. You are right on the money about the London Cab Drivers. Makes you laugh in this health and safety age doesn’t it. It’s not just any old ■■■■ with a sat nav/uninsured vehicle/unroadworthy vehicle /possible ■■■ offender or druggie that can drive the public about. I hear that gangs are now getting in on the act. I certainly wouldn’t be using Uber or their like.

Brakes are recruiting Yate, Tamworth, Aylesford - and maybe others as well. Check out your local depot.Class 2 is better than nothing. thanks!
Tamworth is advertising class 2 AND 1 according to the big poster on the depot fence outside…
I’m pretty sure there’s nothing at Grantham or Thetford right now, at least for class one.
There’s also a new depot opening at Harlow as well.
The class one vacancies elsewhere are sporradic. I’m trying to get own my foot in the door myself.

I think the public are waking up to the idea that “you get what you pay for”. What’s the point of getting some bod undercutting the competition - if he chucks you about in the back with their rough ride, gets involved in a RTC say, or takes a satnav designated route that takes him straight into an otherwise easy-to-avoid traffic jam?
What do Satnavs say for getting from Egham, to Langley for example? Do you sit in the M25 traffic, do you come off and on J14 like I do, or does the satnav try and send you across the Potomec?
still searching…
so much for this ‘driver shortage’ …

We’ve just had 7 trainees sitting with us day drivers for the last 10 days, they were all plucked from the dole office, all training, medical fees, CPC and test fees paid by the government, and they are guaranteed a job at the end. So it looks like they are trying to find a solution to the driver shortage. Mind the kid that was with me did’nt seem so enthusiastic after a few 4am starts.
Regarding the UK v Germany debate, give me Germany any day!
Really annoys me that!
If the industry really is short of drivers, then better pay rates would attract more drivers.
But to train people up for free, just ■■■■■■ people off who paid thousands for their licences, and suppresses the wages for all drivers!

i had to pay for my CE and all the bloody CPC ■■■■… prob costing just over 2000 quid inc all the petrol to get to CPC training centers…
are the government promoting that it would of been better for me to go on the doll… and then sign up to one of these schemes rather than using my own initiative?
Cameron is a ■■■■■■ /
