I see the Government have panicked again, thinking due to slow container ports affecting imports, they’ve gone and relaxed drivers hours again… I was led to believe, it’s due to the big players hoovering up all the slots, and not turning up, Box jockeys to confirm…
Pointless, no volume going into store. People not buying, dont need it. Cant get overtime at the moment let alone need to max hours and beyond.
So they’ve relaxed drivers hours again eh?
So yesterday you were considered a virtual criminal for irresponsibly going over your hours in a ‘dangerous’ way, with the consequences of financial ■■■■, but now (because it suits them) the same practice today is deemed safe and acceptable…yeh right.
As I’ve said before on these occasions, such as during winter bad weather,…apart from the fact that 15 hour days are too ■■■■ long anyway in Century 21, anybody who accepts and does this is a complete and utter ■■■■■■ mug imo.
They can shove their relaxed hours right up their arses as far as I’m concerned…ok I don’t affect me personally,.I don’t do boxes , but you get my point.
How relaxed are they ,asking for a friend
If its anything like last time, you’d have to prove to the n’th degree why you went over the hours. Not even sure anyone actually did?
Is it driving hours before a break, number of 10s you can do or total working hours? And do we still have to adhere to the WTD crap?
Ah well, not happening even if lile most, I’ve never been near a port.

Warehouses are full. Stock held in boxes. Ships being diverted. Price rises imminent.
Solution?
Shorter weekends for drivers. Of course it is!

It did make me chuckle when I heard. I was like “why are we getting dragged into this”

When his boss has him bent over the table with his pants down, it should slip in quite easy
Honda cant get their parts from Japan and still blame Brexit, despite the fact they are closing in July and Felixstowe have been on a go slow for months.
As pointed out elsewhere a UK tractor unit with 11 tonnes on the drive axle is a murdering, unsafe killing machine unless you pop 22 miles over the channel when they will stick another two tonnes on the same axle and carry on regardless.
Look how many people have been killed by lorries with 44250kg showing on the plate, yet 50 tonne in Holland is the norm on five axles. It makes no sense to anyone except the legislators.

Quote removed for safety…
I’m sure 1 st time they relaxed the rules you could do 5x10 drives which certainly
Was a help on a Friday as normally done 2 x 10 hr drives already , this time no benefit as I don’t do extra shifts & 90 hrs driving isn’t the problem , it’s the lack of a 10 hr drive available on a Friday .
Hopefully they revaluate the new rules & add the option of 5x10 hr drives , or even 1 extra would be helpfull

Even if you could, you still wouldn’t be home for steak dinner on Friday.

We’ve got em , stressheads, midnight to 2am starts, max out as a matter of routine, they genuinely think the limits are actually targets.
They use their 10 hour drives Mon and Tues, and moan when they can’t get home on a Friday, think that 9 hours off is compulsory not a minimum, no time to stop for a ■■■■…in actual fact one of em let out he ■■■■■■ in a bottle at the wheel so he doesn’t have to stop.
Every day is a stress fest, they don’t actually have to, they CHOOSE to work that way.
They actually think the boss is their mate…yeh right. he doesn’t give a ■■■■ about them.
■■■■■■ helmets of the highest order, on their way to their first heart attack…no sympathy from me when they undoubtedly achieve it .
The extra hours will make their year.
