Got to get in front

In the average speed roadworks, why do car drivers insist of getting in front of me, before the roadworks start, I can see them all behind me going like the clappers then they panic and slam on their brakes when they see the yellow camera pylons ?
They think it is a speed flash camera as they do not know what average means .

Alot don’t use motorways on a regular basis so comming upon road works/ sped cammeras confuses them

for the same reason they do it at the end of dual carriageways,
they just love driving on the red hatch markings,
it is because their brain cell hasn’t been recharged the night before.

You forgot to say that before the roadworks they were hogging the middle lane doing 80 + then upon hitting the 50 limit they dive into the inside lane and proceed gingerly at barely 45 and the middle lane has a 6’6" width limit so you’re now stuck behind ffs.

Slam on in front of you, and then proceed to do 40-45mph :unamused:

And don’t forget those that cause the mile long tailbacks when 2 lanes on a m/way are closed for R/W’s and still plow on in lane 3, 200yds out from where it all narrows down, just because there’s 3 or so trucks in a line and and a string of cars in front of them that will obviously be going a lot faster than those pesky trucks…saves them a couple of minutes, can add 10-15 to our journeys…longer if it all goes ■■■■■■■■■■ A few months back, when the M4 near j19 w/b had the above closure in place, 3 cars howling down the outside…tried to force their way in…nowhere to go as they were almost at the back of the truck with the big flashy arrow/yellow lights (the one that’s meant to be out there!) and the resulting coming together of the 3 cars left them busted up in lane 3, open to a tirade of abuse and much laughter from the hundreds that were passing. Me? I never said a word, just carried on my way…honest!
