Got paid today does this seem ok?

I got paid for last weeks tramping Monday - Friday
I got £480 net in my bank, havnt got a payslip yet, it’ll be in the wagon next time I’m working so I don’t know how much tax I will have paid.

Just wondering If that seems right, that’s including 4 £20 night allowance aswell!

Cheers

Looks ok to me, I reckon you paid about just under £200 in tax? :-/

How many duty hours were that?

Wow a lot of tax :frowning:, Erm 56 I think

Well that’s good… [THUMBS UP SIGN]

It’s seems good, although I stayed in a services every night, robbing b******** £20 to park up with a £7 meal voucher for a 10 hour luke warm heated sausage, mash and lumpy gravy haha

Think income tax on that wage level would be 23% off the top, don’t know if your nights out pay is taxable thow.

Your tax code should be like 810L or something so that’s about right, I feel robbed of tax too.

My tax code was 940L When I was in the restaurant  tax confuses me and also ■■■■■■ us all off ha!!

How annoying are the prices of services tho, I parked up in a lay-by on the a14 last week as I was £1 short to pay for the services

Tax code should now be 943L (unless you’re on an emergency code in which case you’ll pay tax on the lot untill it’s sorted) and your night out money is tax free. That means that of your £480, £180 of it would be tax free and your £80 night out money is tax free also. The rest has been subject to tax at 20% and national insurance at 12%. Therefore, your top line is about £590. So taking out your night out money, for 56 hours you’re on just over £9ph.

You mentioned parking, presumably your company pay for that in addition to your night out money

I assume you’re not driving for the outfit in your avatar :exclamation: They pay £22.50 a night but pick up the parking on top.

No I don’t work for stobarts, I need to change that avatar !
I need to speak to them about the parking as the other day the container I was carrying was full off televisions, one night tractors, the other night watches etc so surely he wouldn’t want me to park in a layby notoriously known for hijacking am I right?

Any company carrying high value loads should insist on secure parking. Their Goods In Transit insurance would demand it.

I just rang him to clarify, he said to leave the receipts in an envelope every Saturday afternoon in the office for it to be reimbursed in the following weeks wage so happy days  ill just have to pay on my card every services but make sure I keep the receipt to get my money back

I remember when you first joined mate, never had any license to your name other than car and wanted to drive for Stobart. Amazing how things change with a bit of knowledge and maturity.

True true, though I’d still work for Stobart if offered full time on containers, they offered me casual shifts for the tesco part so I turned it down,

Luckily I’ve got full time now on containers with some company that’s owned by three brothers and have given me that chance noone else would!! Hats off to them for paying my years premium though  I bet it wasn’t cheap haha
