Managed to get out with a mate today after recently renewing my entitlement, getting cpc and tacho etc. Haven’t driven since the early 90’s and was a bit apprehensive as you can imagine, I’ve got class one but this wagon was only class 2 so a little easier. We finished the last tip and I got behind the wheel back to base… took to it like riding a bike. Manual 8 speed box with range change probably helped as well as this was the sort of wagon I’d driven previously anyway, auto can’t be any harder. Played about with the cruise control which was easy enough, but it takes some getting used to: taking you right foot off the pedal and letting it do it’s thing and tbh, found myself just not wanting to use it.
Learned all about using the axle hight adjusting gizmo as well, which was also helpful. All in all, enjoyed it and a real boost to my confidence. Hopefully, I’ll land a permanent decent job soon as I’m steering clear of agencies as long as I can going by the general consensus on how a few operate lol.
