Which haulier had the main contract to haul out of of Fisons at Goole?

Goole BRS did it for a long time I remember because I worked for Advance Roadways who cleaned up bags and restacked it for them.

Fisons new subsidiaries, Doughty Goole Fertilizers Ltd.,
registered in 1939, was formed by merging Doughty Richardson Fertilizers,
a company acquired in 1930 by Fisons, with Goole Tillage Co. Ltd., a
subsidiary of Anglo-Continental Guano Works Ltd., acquired in 1937, with
the object of retaining the brand names of each and providing a parent
company for the administration of the Humber region.

Thanks Wheel Nut, did Goole BRS have the contract in the mid 80’s? was it exclusive?

BRS had closed Goole by then. Damac moved into their depot, Reeds, Ringrose and FJ Wright were the main hauliers in Goole. Whitedale had closed and so had LEP

Hi.Does anyone remember E Mitchell&Co from Gowdal. They ran out of Linpac at Rawcliffe and Carlsberg.I used to go with my old man, early 70s.

Yes I worked for him he was in partneship with Ged Abbott I drove that Perkins engine Seddon on the linpac contract
Some of the other Drivers were Graham Wright/Sunny Fielder/Graham Mann/Mel Carr/and others.

Swift always had a lot of vehicles loading out of Fisons, I often wondered if they were the main hauliers and everyone else subcontracted to them.

I worked with Pauls brother Mick who was also at Hewsons and most of the other companies you posted. Graham Read who was on the Ringrose photo worked for Waggy as did his dad Colin.

Still no Beltons photographs? F86 and an odd F7 I think

Edward (Cretney) became a good friend and if you knew him, you would understand that is a very brave admission :unamused: . Between Brian Leighton. Majestic Garages, Edward and Ronnie Studer. I knew many hauliers in Howden and Goole through them. The last time I saw Edward was when he was depot manager for Rentco Trailers in Hull
