I’ve just got rid of the last windoze 10 OS on my desktop PC’s in the house to the latest Ubuntu OS, The other two have a mixture of Ubuntu & Linux Cinnamon, Security updates for windoze finish in October & these older desktop PC’s don’t meet the requirements for windoze 11, They run like a dream on Linux/Ubuntu will no problems whatsoever.

The only thing I understood in that post is Cinnamon :smile:

Which whenever I hear the word makes me think of Stone Roses rather than any food with it in :rofl:

When they ended support for Windows 7 I tried Linux Mint, and have never looked back. Absolutely incredibly operating system.

LOL, I never liked Windows, it was a bloated POS compared to Linux Cinnamon or Ubuntu’s Noble Numbat 24.4 which I’m on now, It’s a great operating system & this older PC runs like a champ.

The desktop in the mancave said new Ubuntu upgrade available, so it’s just installed Questing Quokka OS, where do they get these names from lol. All free & this old PC runs like a dream.

I just bought basic pc cost £300 with windows 11 lot better than last pc which was 7 years old maybe.
Don’t do much on it if honest just pay bills emails about it.
One my mates he found a way to install windows 11 onto his pc for free . Basically he watched YouTube vids read online and download it or something. Not a good idea in my opinion

I looked into doing that, but I think you’re right, it could be storing up trouble for later on. My i7 PC just gave up the ghost, no idea what’s up with it, I’ve not got the patience to see what’s up with it at present or replace it, I had to buy a new washing machine & the car insurance is due, so I installed the Ubuntu SSD into this old HP workstation & it works great saying it’s over 12 years old.
