Some good advice from Toby there. You are supposed by law to carry your passport at all times. Most peeps carry a copy (shrunk & laminated?) of the id page & TM (departure) card.
Unlikely to get mugged unless your obviously very drunk or walk on Beach Road in Pattaya early hours of the morning.
Ice can be made from unfiltered local tap water. This can can cause upset if you have a sensitive stomach.
In reality the majority of bars and restaurants in Thailand have their ice delivered from professional ice making companies.
Salads can be washed in tap water. However most salads in Thailand are excellent.
I’ve been taking ice in drinks when in LOS (Land of Smiles) for over 10years and never been sick from it.
