Good Start to the Day!

First drop was 4 packs of concrete blocks to a house having an extension built. These are the type used to fill inbetween concrete beams to create a floor.

The builder asked me when the beams were turning up but these are usually delivered direct by a contract haulier, half way through unloading another lorry turns up with the beams.

I sort of half watched as the driver turned round at the bottom then parked up just behind me, before I’d finished he’s hopped out of the cab & we’re having a bit of 2 way banter as fellow drivers do !

He’s an extreme stutterer. All “F F F F’s” & “B B B B’s” but we managed to share a little of the light hearted ‘camaraderie’ that is common in the building trade.

Please don’t get me wrong, I have absolutely NO problem with folk with speech problems. In fact I’m impressed that he had the balls to not only join in the banter but actually instigate it !

No one took the Pi$$.

As I’m climbing in my truck to pull off & make way for him I just happened to notice that he had a number plate type name sign in the windscreen, just like mine.

His name is “J J J John”.

So, if anyone knows “J J J John” who delivers concrete beams, please tell him from me that he’s a top bloke & he can come work with our shower anytime. I think we’d get on.

I think that’s a great thread , it goes to show that there are still some great British drivers out there with some respect left

Sorry, its not me,but im havin a look out

I didn’t mean anything by that all drivers from the continent are respectful and polite, what I’m saying is most drivers from the UK couldn’t stand together for a photograph , for example drivers in France, if one man or woman went on strike the whole industry would come to a standstill , no disrespect meant.

Think I’ve seen this guy out on the road (or one with a very similar plate) and I can remember wondering if he had a stutter, at least my question is now answered

I do like people that can take the ■■■■ and out of themselves too, i’m sure we’d get on.

Sound’s like a good man

He drives for a firm thats contracted to longley group precast concrete at Dewsbury.
Seen him a few times when I have delivered there.
