Oh, I never knew that. Which trucks have a fixed axle?
Not to Hi Jack Iveco’s limelight (see what I did there…)
Anorak on:
It’s always been a duel between the Stralis, the Premium & the MAN offering, someone was saying Renault are halting right hand drive premium production soon perhaps with the new model which may be a boost to the other 2 in this market dunno how true that is though, i’d have thought the Premium was a strong seller for Renault?
Hopefully with this model Iveco will gain ground, the more competition the better.
Thanks for the link, but it’s all just pure marketing flim-flam.
Upper wishbone, lower wishbone
Double-wishbone design, letting the wheels move vertically independently of each other.Rack and pinion steering
Puts you in direct contact with the wheels. There is virtually no slack — the truck responds immediately to your steering-wheel movements.Cross members
Handle the stabilising job, normally done by the front axle.
All trucks have front wheels which move vertically independently of each other.
All trucks have rack and pinion steering.
All trucks have cross members.
Non-independent suspension means the back of a 1960’s Ford Anglia or Austin Cambridge, where there is a fixed axle and what happens on one side has an effect on what happens on the other side because the two sides are connected by a lump of steel.
the new volvo fh only has independent suspension on the top spec models, as far as maintainance goes i think it’s a daft idea!
Well I’m no engineer, it just sounded cool! With the steady deterioration of our roads, it’s now a primary concern of mine, fed up of being thrown about & having my fillings rattled
Think there’s a video somewhere of it going over rough terrain and the road holding looks impressive.
One thing I would say to Iveco I’d have a look at the launch website and compare it to the new actros and the new fh one, I appreciate the budget would be larger for the other 2 but really?
