Good luck anyone going to Morrisons at Bridgwater

Have fun chaps.

I think I’m going there tomorrow… :open_mouth:

So much for that early Friday finish…

They were putting barriers across the exit at the Northwich RDC this morning with “private property” signs on them, I wonder if they are expecting action there too?

Well at least they are getting together to stand up against the supermarkets,

Well at least they are getting together to stand up against the supermarkets,

why not get together, and refuse to sell their product below a set price?

And why don’t the truck drivers who agree with their plight refuse to go there ?
(maybe … Not my problem pal ■■?)

Cheshire mate, CASH!!! :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Yep. I love living in Cheshire. Do you have a butler orange boy?

Mine is great. Washes my car, replies to all my fan mail, and bakes a mean carrot cake.

Only problem is, he is from the agency. So he damages a lot of my equipment and rifles through my belongings.

I like delivering frozen to Morrisons at Bridgewater, great place and I always stop at Sedgemoor services first to get a Costa, dumb farmers do note,
that’s a Costa which I estimate, like Starbucks are charging £6 per pint for milk, shame farmers didn’t set up coffee bars here there and everywhere
since we have become a nation of Latte lovers.

Wouldn’t the farmers be committing an offence by causing an obstruction? If it’s a simple picket type demonstration, just drive past. I’ve ignored picket lines before and I slept soundly enough.

well any updates

I wonder if the farmers would gain as much support if they all turned up to blockade the depot in their shiny Range Rovers. Or have they just sent the Farmworkers to do the blockade for them? (rhetorical)

No sign of any of them at 10.00 this morning.

Head above the parapet time.
Farmers are sitting on millions of pounds worth of assets, if they really felt that hard done by ,the best threat they could make would be to say they will sell up, but they don’t. The reason for this is, yes they sell milk at a loss but all the other subsidies they get actually make farming very profitable, they would just like the money from the milk to go into their bank accounts as well.
As with any self employed person, a farmer will buy the latest and best equipment to avoid paying tax, this means that as far as the taxman and everyone else sees, they make no profit. However you wont see a farmer going to a food bank, if they’re not driving the latest Range Rover its because they’ve just spent quarter of a million on a harvester or super tractor or maybe a million on a robotic milking machine so they don’t have to get out of bed at 4 in the morning.
Farmers are great, hard working, look after our countryside and keep it beautiful but poor they aren’t and if they are poor they’re doing it wrong.
Tin hat on time I think :grimacing:

Spot on.

I think a straw hat would be more appropriate. The thread title mentions Bridgwater don’t forget.
Talking of subsidies, I’ve heard farmers can get subsidies for maintaining their access tracks, gateways etc but only if they use local quarried stone. ■■■■■■■■ (as in rubble, not as in relaxing in a gentlemanly way) isn’t subsidised because it’s not a native material to put into the ground. They’ll gladly have it for free though.
