I am facing redundancy in a couple of months from a decent paying job in the Liverpool area. Anyone know of good agencies in the north west where the jobs you get can lead to full time? Getting lots of offers but not sure which one to go for. Asda sainsburys co op etc. All thru various agencies.

you’re in an ideal place. get down to the docks. both liverpool, and birkenhead, and get some phone numbers from the lorries down there.
that’s what i’ve done at fleetwood in the past, and ten minutes later it’s “when can you start”.

Good agencies anywhere are are rare as rocking horse ■■■■!.
Any agency is basically a middle man,if you can cut him out of the equasion there is more in the pot for the operator to pay you.

I have done agy work before, just not for a long time. They were mostly crap back then. It just seems to get anything half decent you have to go through them. For example asda advertise for any job on their own website. Cleaners check out staff, but when it comes to drivers nothing! Loads of agencies looking for drivers in there though

+1. There’s no such thing as a good agency anyway, they all talk more ■■■■ than a fortune teller…!
There was a time when an agency gig would lead to a full time job, that was a long time ago all you get now are lies and deceit.
The big operators use large numbers of agency staff throughout the year but be prepared to sit at home for a while after Christmas.
The agency used to be a good flexible way to make a few extra quid, or for older guys who don’t want a full week or weekends.
Just remember to take EVERYTHING they say with a pinch of salt, or you could try for a full time job, myself I would choose option 2.
