Interesting. So have they scrapped the 12 weeks at agency rate requirement before parity pay then, or just neglected to mention this in the ad? Up here at YDC you don’t get parity until 12 weeks.
The fact that RM are doing this already indicates that they are expecting things to get pretty crazy on the lead up to Christmas. I wonder how long til the other parcel movers offer similar as they’re all going to be in the same boat competing for a limited pool of drivers.

Yep. Contrary to what certain members from the Kent area would lead you to believe, the job is a piece of ■■■■. Even for an unfit and idle lazy arse like me I can manage to load a decker with yorks with only working up a light sweat and still keep to all the times on the run sheet, and that’s with their slow DAFs that only do 87-88 kmh.

Normally none allowed from mid November until end of December as a full timer anyway

I had a chat about this job. You get Christmas day and new years day off and either Christmas eve or new year’s eve.
The expected shift pattern is tues-sat. 8hr shifts with o/t available.
Ruby, (the girl handling the applications) claimed all the hotels have gyms and swimming pools, so a chance to maybe work off some of those yorkie bars.
They are looking to get 40 drivers at 4 locations. Atherstone, Bristol, Crick & Warrington. Sounds like fun. I’ve done RM for the last two Christmases so I know the work. See you at Atherstone then…
