Hope this hasn’t been posted before, but I found this:
I know there’s not much chance of it, with still less than a years class 1 experience, but I’d love to get into this kind of thing, either as a wagon driver or an ■■■■■■ driver.

Good video that, as for getting into that kind of work, I’m sure one or two people on here can point you in the right direction.
I know of several companies that do a mixture of standard haulage and abnormal, so maybe you could start with one of them,
or start by loading your truck with and inch or 2 sticking over each side.
All that fuss for a 777, we had a 797 own here last week on a wag & drag…
I’d say your best route into heavy haulage would be through a plant hire company, we only run at 44t but carry 360’s at up to 12’ wide fairly often. In previous years our lowloader was running as STGO Cat 2 and if we bought any bigger machines we’d need to be doing it again.
As for experience, I joined my company with just over 2 years class 2 and after a year they put me through class 1 as relief cover. A couple of days with the regular driver and I was sent out doing it on my own, town’s countries and central London.
So it can be done.
■■■■■■ hell that video was making my eyeballs whizz round! Spoiled by too many special effects! I got to about the 20 second mark!
