Goint to lose another ind. estate to yellow lines

I currently work on an industrial estate and at ‘rush hour’, some lorries have been parking up for the night within 50 metres of a roundabout that has traffic descending on it from all directions and causing hassle for commuters. There’s plenty of free parking along the road further up and away from the congestion so why not park there like other trucks do? Had some council bods about today and word is, they are looking at double yellows all over the road now. Would be a shame really as ‘free’ parking is getting rare, I see quite a few trucks parked further up the road every morning causing no bother to the morning commute and seems the few are spoiling it for the many.

Which estate and where?

Estover Road, Plymouth. Part of Estover Industrial estate.

I’m sure this is going to be happening on the Tamar view ind estate at saltash aswell :unamused:

The thing is that sometimes you do admittedly find yourself parking somewhere, that given an alternative, you would probably not.
This is for one reason only, …ie. There is a vast shortage of suitable places to park overnight the length and breadth of the country.
So how is putting in even more restrictions, by shutting down some of the existing spots helping anything exactly? :unamused:
■■■■ Muppets. :smiling_imp:

Why can’t they just paint lines at the troublesome area near the junction? :unamused:

Councillors seem to get giddy at any prospect of banning trucks from somewhere.

I’ve a feeling that greyfriars at Stafford won’t be long off either , mainly due to “professional” drivers parking like complete ■■■■■■■, its a bombsite at the moment due to roadworks but when they are finished I can see the double yellows appearing :open_mouth: hope im wrong

I`m afraid its all to do with the mess some drivers leave behind, plus the fact the councils are clamping down on trucks parking where they want to, and possibly because their bosses wont or dont pay for parking, IF all hauliers were told that their vehicles will be clamped, if they dont pay for real parking with facilities for their drivers. I worked for one such company who refused to pay for parking…well we all know theres more than one way to skin a cat…once it had cost him a few quid, he realised it was better to pay the £20 odd quid…but wanted a receipt, as he could offset it against his taxes, and also to stop him from paying for drivers meals ■■
Down here in darkest kent…the police are now issuing tickets big time for trucks parked on the A2 by the services, mostly foreign drivers i might add, who were parking on the hard shoulder, now its only on the slip road.
