Long story short parking was arranged in Berlin but cars were blocking the bay . by the time the police came to remove said cars I was 40 mins over the 15 hours
Pics took of tow truck . police .parked cars etc and print out made and reason why limit was exceeded
I’m of to south Spain in may and know Spanish plod love to issue a big fine for taco infringements
So the questions are
Will the pics etc be good enough to ‘get off’ with it
Or
Should I ‘lose’ the digi card and get a shiny new one ?
The Spanish enforcement should accept the digi printout with the reasons.
It’s a shame the Berlin police didnt put their badge number and relevant information on your print out.
It’s the Basque area that may extract a large fine, in to thousands of Euros.
Catalan Mosses police to watch out for.
Then the Gendarmarie in France.
For peace of mind, I would get a new card.
Or take the chance of not getting stopped.
Good luck.
Wouldn’t worry. You had a genuine excuse. Happens to me on a regular basis. I do a lot of show and event haulage so the event has to happen and if someone tells you to move or wait that is what happens.
Don’t take the scare stories to seriously about Spain. Just as likely to get caught and fined in Germany as you are spain !
If you see somewhere a van of BAG Germany stop there and tell them your Problem and that you have to go to Spain…
Or alternativ an office of the motorway police…
Normally it´s no problem to get a letter for control and they will put their card in your digi and than Spain will be no Problem…

and a new tacho unit? because they regularly download the info from there as well.
anyways, I wouldn’t be too bothered, happens to everybody and you won’t get caught every time. and even if you do, you do have a genuine reason so no worries.

That’s not a genuine excuse. You’ve run out of time. If they want it moving then that’s their problem, you aren’t legally able to work. Your excuse would last all of 2 seconds in front of a Traffic Commissioner.

lol just when you think that things really can’t be that bad in Europe and drivers won’t in reality be criminalised for the most pathetic of things, our resident Adolf appears and reminds us all that we’d better not fall out of step with the tacho goose march.

Not excusing myself. I just get on with my work and keep my customers happy.
If you think going over your 15 every now and again is living on the edge and risking a meeting with the TC you need to get out more!
Plenty of other things to worry about in life rather than running scared of what may happen.
You’re a mug Plambert. Your bosses and your customers are taking you for a mug and like all the other mugs who do the same as you you’re too stupid to realise it.

Thank you for the advice and wake-up call. Always wondered where I was going wrong over the last 12 years. I’ve been told!

See modest nuts is on the charm offensive again, finger out wagging around like a weasels willy.
Your at a point where you know it’s going to take 2 hours to get to your end of shift parking point. You only have 1.5 hrs left.
You must aim to park safely within or by the end of that 1.5 hrs. There in the eyes of the law is no excuse to exceed that time.
If it can be proven that you were unable to park safely you may deviate from the regulations but it will be you that has to prove the reason.
