Yes, it has been passed but they haven’t decided the speed yet.
They are looking at between 60-70mph.
Some of the States now are limited to 55mph for trucks but there are no less accidents in those States.
Then you have some that have 85mph limits on some of their interstates, Texas & Utah spring to mind.
Some of the States are objecting saying it is a State issue, not Federal.
The other problem is that they are going to make Elogs mandatory as well and when you’re paid by the mile, the paycheck will look very grim.
my mates is limited to 65mph
How did the bill to raise the maximum gross weight from 36T to 41T (91,000lbs) go? It was introduced in 2015 but the rail lobby objected as they wouldn’t like the competition.
Given the extra weight of American motor-home tractor units compared to ours, I can’t see how trucking is even profitable there with a 36T limit. What’s the payload of those things?

36 T limit??
Is that all?
Some of those things are fricken huge!
I see a lot of 53 foot box’s over there, whats the bloody point of a 53 foot container with such a low pay load?
aye the good old USA 80.000lbs max on a normal double drive with a two axle trailer…12000lb,34000,34000lb (steering.drives + trailer) on main routes. at least in Canada we are more 39.5 on same as usa… pulling a 3axle trailer 44.5(45.5)tns but this is main RTAC routes … then there is A,B, C weight limit roads 90%.80% & 70% of RTAC axle weights).not forgetting gravel rd winter weights enough to turn you to drink if you run back roads. Not forgetting spring road restrictions on A,B,C roads and that is 90% of 90% axle weights etc … if you run on the main roads on distance no problems but for the rest of us its a real ***** at certain times o the year

Not forgetting, they put the restriction signs halfway down the road where there is no chance to turn around, not at the junction on a restricted road.
