Evening boys and girls, looking for a bit of advice, going down to Wembley on Sunday to watch the mighty Hull city and I just wondered which way you would go? I am leaving Hull bout 8am Sunday, I think going across the bridge, down through Lincoln and then joining the A1 near Newark, the only reason for this is if I go down the M1, I will get all the Sheffield fans and the roadworks just after the M18.
Easy enough to jump to the M1 by getting off the A1M at J3 and take the M25 to J21a, then onto M1 south from there. M1 to wembley is a piece of ■■■■, down the A1 can be an arse. That being said it could be different on a match day, and depends where you plan to park.
4 nil to United would be perfect. It would make my day to see the smug grin wiped off the orange face of Look North’s Peter “I’m from Dull, what a nob I are” Levy, and all the other chavs from the rsoal of the north.
Forgot to mention that I’m off to London on Sunday afternoon to do the Crossrail thing on Monday. It will be the best belated birthday present for me to see cars heading northwards bound proudly flying red and white scarves.

I went to watch sunderland in the league cup final and went straight down the m1 to Stanmore and got the tube in (3 stops ) to wembley. Using parkonmydrive.com I paid £5 for all day parking. Absolute doddle, and straight out after the game and home in good time. Reports from sunderland fans still stuck in traffic getting out of wembley when I had got home to Harrogate at 8.30pm. Think about it, it will be busy. Have a good day.
You need a map to get to Wembley . .
Go by train and get on it .
Don"t bother with the Green Man head for JJ Moons.
In fact, don"t bother with the "Wembley experience " . . get on the lash.
May the best team win.
Yeah I know, I think most people will head down the night before, just figure if I set off early enough, will get there and miss the traffic!
No probs with marathon thats all on the east side of town. Parking near wembley is non existent though. That site the other guy mentioned is worth a look at or its a bus rideaway to park.

If you opt for the Stanmore idea then park East of the station. I had the misfortune to be in the area two weeks ago when there was an event on at Wembley. It took 40 minutes to drive the 200 yards from Stanmore Hill along the Broadway and turn into Marsh Lane. This was due to traffic past the Undergound station on London rd A410, which leads to the A5 and A41 which give access to the M1. This traffic was backing up and completely blocking the two junctions’ traffic lights.
