Before anyone asks, no I haven’t got a bad stomach. Give Goodwind is actually the name of a Danish wind turbine transport company and a subsidiary of Give Sværgods, a well known heavy haulage company in Denmark.
Could do with a bit of info. if possible on their UK operation based in Glasgow which covers Scotland and Ireland.
I’m just starting to get into the whole jib-jockey thing as a mobile crane driver and I am enjoying it but applied at Give Goodwind’s Danish and Norwegian offices for a driving job a while back and to my surprise they have just got back in touch with me.
They haven’t got any work going in Scandinavia right now but might be able to find something for me on a temporary basis over here.
I’ve often seen the turbine blades, nacelles and towers at Immingham docks having been shipped over from Denmark and thought I had seen some of their trucks in there but could have been mistaken.
How come they don’t cover England and Wales?
Do the likes of Collett or Allelys have the contracts instead?
I’ll be heading to Billund to visit the real Legoland and a few Scandinavian friends next month and have been invited to the main headquarters in Give for a chat whilst in the neighbourhood.
I thought the UK operation was run totaly separately but it appears not.
Would appreciate any info. so I can have a better idea of what to expect when I turn up on their doorstep at HQ.
Thanks.
Can’t help much, but they do move stuff out of Immingham, not seen them much recently though
Hi again yes Give are a top outfit, totally dry so that counts me out I suppose, know a bloke who went back on for them in Jan, was told he be about 6 weeks working over UK then 2 off back home but not seen or heard since. Didn’t they take over Bill Livingstone a few years ago a something to do with permits?
short walk:

Ok thanks… I’m flying into Billund on Wed. 1st. June and will be in the neighbourhood until Saturday night (4th.).
So Short Walk… Apart from Legoland what else is there to see or do in Jutland?
Is it worth a ride to Aarhus or Esbjerg?
What about Aalborg if I get enough time?
Copenhagen and Zealand were quite interesting but I’ve heard that Jutland is a bit sleepy.
Are you still on Denmark only work for DSV?
Will try and catch up with you on the E20 if things work out.
Yes still on E20! What’s the purpose of your visit? Is it just job hunting? Well there’s Give, Mammoth in Brande and as we mentioned earlier Skak down at Rodekro that may be of interest to you, also BMS who have places all over. Good luck.
