Hi all im a class 2 driver recently passed and looking for work, unfortunately ive got convictions (DR30 and CD10) from a younger and stupider age. Ive done courses such as HIAB and ADR to try and increase my chances of employment, what else can i do?
I guess the current climate doesn’t help, just that i was led to believe that motoring convictions didnt really matter and that the transport industry was all milk and honey!
Are there any companies (midlands area) which do take on people in my situation?

You would find it very had to compete outside of this current climate with those on your licence - not impossible - but at the moment your best bet, IMO, is to do something else.
…transport industry was all milk and honey! - who told you that
I think you need to get out and knock on the doors of the smaller haulage companies, that is those who employ you because they think you’d do ok in thier company regardless of stupid things you’ve done in the past and not because you tick the right boxes in their Human resources employment form.
Good Luck and don’t give up
sticky:
the DR30 well ive got another 7 years of having that on my licence
So it was commited about 4years ago? Would’ve thought that might still weigh quite heavily against you as relatively speaking, it’s recent. A lot of insurance companies won’t cover drivers with DR convictions at all or they will but they must be spent, which is 11 years after conviction I believe.
