For the end is nigh.
M1 northbound approaching J30 last night and they were removing the crash barriers on the left.
Oh the simple joys of life eh!
They have been shifting them for the last 2 weeks or so through out the works, and have been installing the new overhead gantries overnight without a full closure and diversion, just a case of police stopping traffic both ways in 1 open lane whilst its lifted in place and secured, then the lanes are reopened.
Unfortunately for me though they’re now doing full road closures on the A1 at Scotch Corner.
Nice to hear they’re only closing the motorway when needed. Only takes 10 minutes to lift one and put the bolts in. No point closing a motorway for 10hrs to do that.
