Just been reading on the below link at the Directgov web site.
Upgrading
If you pass your test for a larger vehicle category, in certain circumstances a lower category will be upgraded. This does not apply, however, to a driver who has already passed a test which involves trailer entitlement for a larger or equivalent vehicle.
The table below provides an indication of the vehicle category held, the higher vehicle category that has been passed and the vehicle category that will be upgraded as a result of the test passed.
There is also a table showing that if you have C and D on your licence and pass the C+E test you also get D+E on your licence.
Not sure but if I passed C then C+E and did D after would I still get D+E when I pass the PCV? I’m really not sure
Is there much call for D+E driving coaches? I have seen UK coaches driving through France with baggage trailers behind but doubt these would be over 750kg. The only thing I can think of using this kind of licence is the bendy buses we have in Leeds. Do you get more money for driving a D+E vehicle?
Sorry if this is a stupid question but I would rather do both LGV tests before PCV but if this means I end up with less on my licence than doing C then D
Merry Christmas and Happy New year
