Getting an Epic Card in Wales HELP

Looking to get an Epic Card as there seems to be a lot of Quarries around where I live in Mid Wales and I could be looking at doing quarry driving jobs… I have been trying to find a company that does the Epic Drivers Card DCPC training as all the local quarries insist on drivers having one…

But I don’t seem to be able to find a company that does this course… Spent an hour on google and found lots of companies that list it on their website, only to call them to find out they don’t or can’t run the course…

Anyone in Wales or Mid Wales who has done their Epic Card able to tell me who runs such courses■■?

Contact your local quarry directly.

The Gore (Lafarge Tarmac) and Cribbarth (Aggregate Industries) both do EPIC courses but I’ve no idea of the cost.

Get in touch with the local hauliers as they may put you through the course at their expense and claw it back if you decide to leave within a year.

Easy peasy course and it goes towards your DCPC.

Good luck

expect to pay about £100 for a days course

Cribarth quarry is closed.

Never had one, and lived in and worked out of quarry’s in Mid Wales, and all over the country up until a couple of months ago when I retired. Only ever asked for it once at a Quarry in South Wales about a year ago, still got loaded no problem.

Might do worse than give A.E Gough a call at Llandrindod Wells. They do loads of quarry work, highly rated firm with good kit; they run a couple of 8-leggers as well as their artics.

Mervyn Thomas does driver training including DCPC courses at Eardisley.
