Looking for information on Gerry Jones. Already spoke to Gerry himself. Seems like a nice guy.
Pay seems OK not amazing though some good added allowances etc.
So whats its like there. They dont advertise much. Fleet looks nice. Anyone know what Spec the trucks are? Fridge microwave etc? Im going to meet with Gerry next week just wanted as much info as possible. Its tramping by the way.

Don’t know anything about them but watched a couple of guys being loaded in Southampton today and they seemed very chirpy. As you already mentioned, really nice looking fleet. Sorry I couldn’t actually answer your question lol
4 plus nites out a week , they do a lot of steel and general dafs and man units and euro liners . I’ve heard the money ain’t the best but the job is steady they used to subbie for a steel company I workers for give it a go
I don’t know about the company itself, but can echo their fleet always looks tidy, I pass them often on the roads.
I used to work for gerry jones back in 2002-2005 when he got the contract for dorlux beds in halifax… he is one of the best bosses that i have ever worked for really down to earth. Whenever he was in halifax he would take the drivers who were back. out to the pub. Very very few bosses would do that. I wouldn’t hesitate to be employed again if he was to base trucks up in yorkshire again… good luck with the interview
Jamiemufu - I was at Lymm Truckstop last Friday lunchtime.
Saw 3 of Gerry Jones MANs. Very impressive looking vehicles. Smart livery, tidy looking.
One of the drivers saw that I was about to try for a photo and kindly moved out of the way.
With smart vehicles and drivers who seem to be proud to drive them, it must be a good place to work.
If you have spoken with Mr Jones and he seems ok, I think you have gained the right impression.
If he offers you a job - take it!

Thats what I thought. But when I phoned, seemed keen to get me over to have a chat. We shall see tomorrow. As I said fleet looks good and things said so far seem positive. Fingers crossed might be on to a winner.
Im not with bwoc anymore. Changed contract internally with turners and got shafted with a light work load. And with turners overtime pays… time to look elsewhere at least till those 17ph jobs start coming up. Got my name down in most places. But someone needs to die before texaco and the like take on. Thanks for comments so far. Keep them coming.
