Germany info please

Hi folks, later this year I’m moving over to Germany to live (baden/Karlsruhe area) not until September
So I’ve no job sorted yet, but I do have some practical questions that some.of you guys might be able to answer,

Here they are:

I know my Uk license is valid across the EU
But do I have to change it for a german issued one
When I becone a permanent resident, same question as for the cpc drivers card.

Also is my uk obtained ADR recognised over there?

I’m looking for any info help you guys can offer, not jist about documents but about trucking in Germany in general, Maut, Mag, wages, spiesen?
Whatever that is! All help gratefully recieved

Cheers Dunc

There are others, but they ain’t as funny as Harry and I :sunglasses:

There used to be a couple of lads that lived out in Germany on here, one by the name of Inselaffe, the other KW, search through the member list thingy and send them a PM

You need to change your License to a german one. they accept your CPC and ADR. They best Place to find a Job is
in Karlsruhe or Stuttgart which is 100 km further west. also try in Pforzheim.

Cheers Tom, interesting about the licence, best I look into that on.

Hi Dunc,

Yes, your UK obtained ADR is valid in Germany.
ADR itself says so, and the Germans are sticklers for the rules so you’re on a winner with that one!!

When it comes time for your refresher, you might have to consider the issue of language though.

Here’s a German phrase for you:

Viel Glück! ( = Good luck!)
