German maut / vignette

having my first expereience of the maut system next week, can i book a jouney that would fill my hours up ,but cancel the last bit if i hit delays without additional cost
also can i get hold of a vignette in germany easily or should i buy one on my way out
jon

jon boy 100 as regards your booking the german maut all the way through,I would not do that as you do not know how long you will be at each customer and this means you will have to rebook when youare running late,
IF you are doing germany regular then it will be better to get a OBU unit as this saves time and money plus you are not limited as regards time ,to complete the journey, THE euro vingette you can look at this site and it will give you the locations where you can get it in Germany, and europe,

site for EURO-vigette…http://www.ages.de

Here is the site for TOLL COLLECT read through this site and it will make life easyer for you

Right where are you off to ,and will you get out before SATURDAY, because of the driveing ban,

hi pete
i will only be transiting germany one way from kufstein through to zeebee.
it is a regular euro motor with a go box for austria but no OBU for maut.
the object of the exersise is to make the hull boat thursday night.i wanted to fill my card up on wednesday and run as far as possible just to make sure i have no problems getting the boat as i am on holiday the following week

site for EURO-vigette…http://www.ages.de

excellent pete thats sorted that bit out

i was traweling through old maut posts this morning and picked up some good tips

i am running to italy and surprised that he wants me to come back through the brenner,i would have thought it cheaper to get a return through the blanc

i will pick my paperwork up this after and let you know what else it says
cheers
jon

jon boy 100 where abouts are you dropping in Italy
,the reason i ask is that a train service goes
Novera (I) --FREIBURG (D) and if you work it
out you may be surprised also with the time
on the train you have 9 h´rs rest, and it is
possible to get over the border to France
witha bit of map reading and driveing with
out useing the german autobahn,The route
from Kiefersfelden to München is one that if
a problem crops up you are stuck, which way
are yougoing kÃœFSTEIN-MÃœNCHEN-
STUTTGART-KARLSRUHE-LANDAU-
PIRMASENS–SAAR-BRUCKEN–PEARL
-LUXEMBURG-- BRUSSELS-GENT-ZEEBEE
Have you looked at the two web sites,
and have you any questions about them,

If you use the train you should make it to
Zeebee in one hit of 10hrs as well,

i dont know for sure the reload yet
going to get the paperwork on this afternoon and i will tell you whether i can use the train.
the route you mentioned is more than likly the route i will return,i might skip lux out if im short of time and go up to frankfurt then across to aachen as that boat is more important than cheap fuel.

no qusetions about the web sites as they are both excellent and easy to use,

i will post the full details on here early evening time, not leaving till mid morning tomorrow for an evening dover calais crossing then run down past reims,my aim is to be in carisio mon evening.
speak to you later
cheers
jon

jonboy100 is this any good, its just a rough idea but from Küfstein to LUX
is 619kms and then from there to Zeebruge is another 332kms
If you use via michlien it also shows all road works and static radar traps
also you have more choices when some thing goes wrong as the A3 and the A61 are bad when problems occur,

cheers pete i was going to ask you which was the better road traffic and roadworks wise.
i am tipping south of bergamo, the reload is just north of padova, all it states on my docs are refuel in austria.
the reload wont be ready till wednesday ,hopefully i will be loaded by 1200 so i can get cracking
thanks for the info
cheers
jon

Forgot to add just in case you have not been that
way before , stick to the rules when going up and
over the brenner as the fines are not little ones,
also in Germany keep your distance as they are
all ways doing controls to do with distance
between vehicles , ON the motorway München–Stuttgart
you may find a heavy police presences as this is one of
the main routes and the Bavarian police do like takeing
money off lorry drivers, oh yeh the austrians have a check
point on the brenner route and you will see if its open or
not as all lorrys are sent into the check area,

Train info,
Jonnboy 100 your trailer height is not allowed to be over
4.00 ,and do not try to slip through with a overheight trailer
as you do get checked , If you use the train you need to have
a sleeping bag, some thing to eat/drink with you plus some
thing to while the time away ,thereis normally a kitchen with
a hot plate and sink you can useon the train, DO not drink the
water in the taps on the train mate,

cheers pete
i was planning on taking it steady as the fines would have to have come out next weeks holiday spend
it still surprises me why i am not been sent back through the blanc, its got to be cheaper and quicker
its a 4m mega on pram wheels, go over a cats eye and it scrapes on the floor

Yes- the first screen you come to gives you the option of “book” or “cancel”. I understand that if you cancel a ticket, you are issued by the machine with some kind of ticket which you take to the cash desk in the establishment concerned, where you get your refund.

jon boy 100:

jon

Believe me, you can’t move for Maut machines in Germany. Even regular filling stations in small towns and suburbs seem to have one, and hardly any of these ever look to have been used.

There is a charge for cancelling, or altering, a booked route.

I belive you will find it costs about 3€ or two pounds
a time if done correcttley

Hi.
How much is the train and where can i book it from??

Cancelling has a 3 euro charge to go with it :frowning:

Trust the Germans to screw you for every last penny

thanks for all the info lads
cheers
jon

@jonboy100
