I have just watched a youtube video and noticed one of there units going up a motorway. What a clean unit it was. I understand that they may have been sold of by now, correct me if i am wrong, if they have i wounder where this unit is going.

all their motors got auctioned off last saturday (i think).im working with one of George Taylors drivers.he said loads of people turned up for the auction and absolutely everything got sold.

yeah everything got sold because there was no reserve on anything, tools / trucks / garage equiptment, etc
beleive me there was no bargains there, everything was fethcing silly money loads of people there that seemed determend not to go home empty handed

i was there and also bought some stuff, even something i didn’t want or even bid on :unamused:

but, the items that i did bid on, i had a price set in mind of what i would be prepared to pay and didn’t go above that price, some things i got, others i didn’t, that’s how auctions go.

but…

Malcolm Harrisons, who held the auction, always do get top dlooer for the stuff they sell, they always seem to get very good prices for the vehicles, as was proven at George Taylors auction

i think the writing was on the wall from the very first lot. 10 very used ratchet straps if i remember fetched £65 to this price you had to add 5% auction fee and 17.5% vat i can buy them cheaper new !!!

had my eye on a air compressor 5.5 honda engine fetched £780 plus fees
box of 24v various light bulbs £26 plus fees anyone can buy that same amount of bulbs for about £20
just a few examples, hence i didnt stay for the truck sales

You see, get two collectors together & they will pay the earth to get their hands on these rare items.

I saw two scanias going up the M5 the other day on trade plates & I saw one of the FHs today pulling a curtainsider, it was going off the M5 at Brockworth & it seemed such a shame to see it dirty, I bet that’s the first time that unit has got dirty in its life.

I’ve never worked for them but I’ve always admired the way the fleet got looked after yet continued to work just like everyone else.
