What is it about this government…they just dont get it.
Once again the road haulage has got nothing from the budget. It looks like the 3 pence per litre rise will go ahead in August.
Do they not realise if the fuel goes up,the rates go up and then the customer passes on the rate rise to their customers. The public start to buy even less and so the volume of goods delivered by the haulier drops even more and bang, more hauliers go to the wall.
It makes you wonder if there is a future for sustainable road haulage
Aww come on dont talk BS
No one suffers apart from the fluffy little animals and the trees and such
People ? what they matter ? The government do not give a dam, Everyone in the UK needs to now stand up and be counted, and NOT vote in these asses
The millionaires that govern us mere mortals can’t seem to grasp that our pockets are empty

The devil will be in the detail of the budget, it will all become apparent soon, it is announced like this on the day “no increases etc etc, we are giving you this and this blah blah”, in reality have a look next week at the details and see whether you are getting anything or are the gvt actually pulling the wool on the day?

I dont know about my public transport, But I dont think I will leave my home several hours before my start time to travel on a bus, esp when the car only takes 20 mins
But thats what the government wants by always increasing their cut, What will they do when more sign on, Oh they will have to in voluntary workfare or loose benefits, and work for BIG companies for nothing apart from increasing the companies profits
It may come as a shock to some of the above posters but, life is all about choices…
Taken from bbc website
No change to existing plans on fuel duty. Vehicle excise duty to rise by inflation, but frozen for road haulier
Sorry misread on my part,i was reading it as no rise instead of no change meaning 3p ltr rise, same old govt.I wonder how many more truckers jobs will go as a result, not to mention the price rises on goods in the shops.
regards dave.

If that was the case we could run trucks and cars on red diesel if we choose to and have the right to refuse to recognise the authority of any zb government such as this one and the decisions taken by it without first having been given the choice of having a referendum on those decisions and a choice concerning the right of those zb’s to govern us without our consent by way of their right to govern being subject to continous review over the term of a government.
With the ruise in fuel prices and the increase in VED the cost of getting to and from work is becoming a real headache, public transport is a non-starter, may well pull the plug on driving.

Apparently the Chancellor has also announced a tax increase on full stops.

I know and commas but he didn’t get much tax off me for using those just like the useless zb will lose out by everyone using less of everything else that he’s taxing to save his cronies having to pay so much income tax.

I think you and I share the same thoughts ( and are nearly from the same part of the country ) . I visited Truckfest Scotland last year and was gobsmacket at the amount of trucks with paint jobs costing £10.000/£15.000 , chrome exhaust systems ,plus chrome wheel rims , enough spotlights to melt the road , etc etc etc ,need I go on , just ask yourself how many litres of fuel would all that bling buy , no wonder the goverment contiues to increase fuel duty etc . As a foot note to all of this post I can only have the greatest respect for companies who cut their cloth accordingly , ie , only recently read an article regarding TTX of Oldham who purchased 3 second hand Renault Premiums for the the price of 1 second hand Scania !!! , its nice to see some operators using some common sense .

I’ve been doing that in every election since the one in 1979, not a single vote for any of ‘these asses’ and it hasn’t made a scrap of difference.

Same, it’s like they don’t notice the fact that we don’t want any of the choices given to us to govern us or our country.
There’s not even a none of the above option, so I just save my ink
so I just save my ink
…and lose the right to complain!

No, can still complain, until they give us a ‘None of the above’ option, I can complain about all the puppets they give us a choice of
so what purpose would a “none of the above” serve
What is a better idea is to able to cast a vote against a candidate.
