Starting a new job with these guys on 29 of this month, does anyone know what they are like to work for? Good site by the way, cheers for any info. :sunglasses:

Welcome to TruckNet UK, doubledeck.
Sorry but I can’t help much with Geopost. I think they are part of the Geodis group. If they are, they have depots all over Europe. I’ve seen UK registered wagons in France and Italy as well as localy registered wagons, in Geodis colours.

I’me pretty sure that someone on here will be able to give you more complete info on them.

got a mate that works for them. he runs out of the glasgow depot and goes to aberdeen, seems to like them and has not complained of the money. so i think it must be alright. oh by the way welcome to trucknet, hope you like the new job.

Hello doubledeck, can’t help you with your question  but can say your son’s (tidy cab) driving is improving very very slowly. I think they might let him take a trailer with him next week. Welcome to trucknet. Ray.

They are the parent company for Parceline & Interlink + others. See link for more info.

I have just finished working for them after 9 months as it isn’t working for me with family life.

Are you going for the job at the Sheffield Interlink depot? I popped in there once to pick up an overspill…nice bunch of lads. The guy who used to do it liked it there as well.

Basically…

The kit is OK. Maintenance is spot on. If you have a fault it is fixed there and then or you’re given another vehicle.

You’ll be sent to Smethwick hub for a few days to undergo a training course. They’ll teach you how to drive the Merc Actros properly, do a defensive and economical driving course and teach you how to use the various trailers you’ll use.

The canteen facilities are good. You’ll spend alot of time in there waiting until your departure time.

The job…

Turn up at depot around 6pm. Load trailer with cages if it is Interlink. Parceline ones are unloaded/loaded by depot staff as it is all loose stuff. Drive down to Smethwick Hub. Put trailer on bay/park. Fuel up and take paperwork into traffic office. Sit in canteen until 2.30am. Go back to hub1/2, get papaerwork, pick up trailer and return to depot. Unload, go home.

People to watch out for…

Scouse George.
ALL THE SHUNTERS.

Do me a favour will you when you do your first night run? Go onto first floor of canteen and there’s a table to the left of the lift (as you come out of it). Ask for Terry Bosworth and tell him “Conor said have you sorted out your own internet account yet?”

Just to add…

Its a good firm to work for. THey run everything legally. IF you go to Smethwick, they put you up in a VERY NICE hotel. When I did mine they counted my very first day when I travelled down for training from when I left home and paid mileage allowance too.

Thanks guys for all the input and by the way conor I do know who scouse george is ha ha. I already work for parceline at chapeltown and this is an internal transfer. ps. watch your pockets when you are around george hee hee :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

Are they taking you off the Depot payroll and putting you on the Hub one then?

You’ll get a shiny new blue uniform.

Den, a mate of mine has worked for them at Smethwick for donkeys, he did Ireland for them too, and he liked it. In fact, he retired, but still does a bit because theyre a bit strapped for drivers it seems. He never had a bad word for them anyway.

Mal.
