In the current climate, if someone offers you a job, take it mate. The class 1 will mainly be trunking work, dull but easy money.

used to do a nightly collection (Jessops) where I’d meet a Geopost driver. It was same driver each night.

He used to do same run Mon-Thurs and on Fri a different but shorter run to keep him within his driving hours.

He worked at Rushden depot. Liked the job, liked the company. He told me he toplined £600 pw but was putting the hours in of course.

His work was all midlands based. He used to leave Jessops at Weedon Northants then go to that big depot just off M5 there junc 2, I think it is then back to rushden & home. Did a coupe of collections before that. Not sure where.

They advertised for drivers in Leicester about a year ago. If I remember rightly it was about £400 pw for a basic 40 hours. But that driver said you’d get more hours than that. I ummed & ahhed about it. Then didn’t apply.

The way things are now I wish I’d gone for it!

If I was you get in there, what have you got to lose?

I was a Geopost Linehaul driver out of the York depot. For the area, the wages were bloody fantastic. Not only do you get your normal hourly rate but there’s a bonus you get paid every 4 weeks as well.

Vehicles well maintained, even if some of the trailers look a bit tatty. They have their own onsite workshops manned 24hrs.

Dead easy no brainer job. I only left because my hours shot up 50% and the monotony got to me.

thanks for the info ,hopefully will get a call sometime this week
