I reckon these days people consider themselves (and are).’’Younger’’ a lot longer nowadays if that makes sense….you get the odd boring basts who wanted to be and acted old since they were 25, and were old men 30 yrs ago, but on the whole most are not.
Just watch old 70s or 80s game show contestants on tv… Brucie will say ‘‘This is John and Irene they are both 40’ …..but they dress and look like they are nearly 70.
When I was 20 guys that were then my age now actually were little ‘‘old men’ dressed in cardigans overcoats pit boots and cloth caps walking with a stick…on their way down t’ legion for a game of dominoes.
