cheers chaps
Sorry mate i know of the company but i dont know anything about them
ive just googled them. Family company with old fashioned values their website says. they do general, and chilled/frozen goods. Not a lot else on the site to be honest
Rough wagons and scruffy drivers from what I can see!! Sure they aren’t all like that though
They are
They are !!!
The boss Andy has bad eye sight and uses a magnifying glass to reaf in the office.
The newest lorry from gees I’ve seen was a 57 plate Volvo, not looking in the best of shape either. From what I gather all/most of their fleet are volvos and not so much upto date and have seen much better days!
Cheers

If I’m paid £15 p/h I don’t give a ■■■■ how scruffy or basic the trucks are so long as they’re legal. Rather that that a top of the range bling mobile and £6.19 p/h.
Though my guess is they don’t pay that much!
So long as they are roadworthy and not falling apart, it shouldn’t be sniffed at.
Maybe the boss puts the money into drivers wages rather than blinged up motors.

The going rate around this area is between £6.50 - £8 so my guess it would be around £7-8 per hour. Can’t say they advertise for drivers that often though so it must say something about the company!

I know they operate some Renault tractor units and 2 or 3 26t rigids
I live just around the corner from their yard and I was offered a job with them at the same time as one in Barnsley. When I went for the interview, I wasn’t at all impressed and choose to drive 12 miles to work in Barnsley rather then stroll about half a mile to work for Gees.
The place was scruffy in my opinion and I just didnt think I could work in that kind of environment. As for the trucks, I’m a bit OCD when it comes to cleanliness of the inside of my cab so I couldn’t work for someone that has junk kit, regardless of the extra cash. Just my personal opinion.
not sure if got much work on as they are pulling Tesco trailers out of goole I know that’s class 1 not class 2 but surely a sign of hard times unless there happy just running out of there
That will be Eddie Stobarts work that they are subbying
and i was lead to believe they get paid a small fortune to cover the less desirable shifts for Eddie Stobart
if I remember you get half hours pay docked for every four hours worked…my personal view would stay bloody clear mate
That good eh
