Hi i’m new to this site So hullo to everyone. As you can see from the heading i’m looking for anyone who
remembers GE Francis Transport Finland Yard Rotherhithe. I worked for George around 1972 did a few months
running Germany then Middle East hauling trailers for Oryx Freight (a good job in them days). He was a bit of a lad
& met a rather sticky end but a great guy to work for. Worked for him for about 4 years. Anyone remember■■?
I think there is whole thread on here somewhere… Maybe do a search & see what comes up? George is well known on Tnet.

I remember George Francis from when I was a nipper. My dad drove for Teddy Clouting around the corner at Surrey Wharf.

I’l have to flag this up with my dad, as he will probably recognise some of those names.
I can only recall a few of the drivers at Surrey Wharf:
Vick Fillery
John Fulbrook
John Hogger
Barry Church (dad)

Did Vic have a pet monkey? There was another Hogger there too, they were twins IIRC, my Dad and Grandad both worked for St Magnus Shipping, my Dad had a D1000, then a Big J, then a brand new Scania 80 on an L plate.
Oh the power of the internet had a nice chat wiv Bobby Bell last night
let’s see if any more old Francis driver’s turn up.
