Sod’s law I’ve learnt the eu drivers rules but I’ve just found a job through the agency doing reclcying work collecting various things for black boxes, could anyone say what the rules are for it ie breaks etc thanks again
Collecting stuff for recycling, what makes you think this job is on domestic regulations ?
Is this council door to door recycling collection - like doing the wheelie bins but collecting stuff out of black recycling boxes

Its the job which determines whether it is domestic or not
Is it a council type job which collects recycled stuff from every street door to door like doing the bin collections
Yh I think so it will be some dust cart work as well ,ill ring em tomoz I believe it is council work
I drive a bin lorry and we are on domestic rules. We don’t use tacho’s, just a drivers book. Hope this helps
We have two lorries come around on a thursday - both on domestic regs - one does the wheelie bins + one collects the recycle bags
The daft thing is that both lorries tip their loads on the same piece of tarmac at the leicester biffa site where the lot goes through the ball mill … why … because its politically correct to try to make people recycle !
If it’s door to door refuse collection it will be on domestic regulations, most councils these days separate the recyclable stuff from the garbage but it’s still door to door refuse collection.
Basically you can drive 10 hours in a 24 hour period, you can work 11 hours in a 24 hour period, there’s no requirement for breaks on domestic regulations so just have your breaks when the crew normally have theirs.
There’s no requirement to use a tachograph on domestic regulations, but if the company/council you drive for want you to use a tachograph put it on “Out of Scope”.
Thanks tachograph and ROG bloody hell there easy regs then lol so ya can do ten hour drive with a 24 hr period with a max of a 11 hr shift no set times for break just when ever you want then completely different to the eu with throw be a little bit
