Gaydon truck show

I took my Uncle (ex Smiths driver) and although it rained, it made it easier to get photos without someone walking across. Model show was good, but some of those Tekno models for sale at “only” £175, WTF I couldn’t see no difference in them and Corgi ones. (Some of which were overpriced but there were a few good prices) Don’t know if it was the rain but there were less stalls there, despite this I contemplated buying a Caterpillar badge to put on the grille of my wagon but at £15 no thanks…

Did you buy one of these Nathan ?

just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to the lads that bought they lorries to Gaydon over the weekend so me and others can admire them the cost and effort must have been considerable thanks again

Those portraits were excellent Dave; I liked those enamel signs too. Infact, I’ve got one of those I bought off a colleague of a Foden steamer a few months ago.

I bought a print of Ararat off Alan Spillett a couple of weeks back, ordered it as soon as I knew he was doing it.Have about 48 of his prints plus one original, running out of wall space now.I wouldn’t mind more memorabilia, but it’s having the space to put it.
Cheers Dave.

some pics i took great show

Just to rub some visitors noses in it and show what a nice day it was on Saturday :stuck_out_tongue:

I have a few shots that amused me!

10 at a time, bare with me!

Didn’t take much on Saturday as chasing the Steel Boys - Heres a group of them passing Warwick Services on their way in

Here are a few of my own…

That blue and chromed recovery truck built on the D series was gorgeous wasn’t it?

And a few cars. Marmon Motor Car company built cars in Indianapolis until 1933 and had a few race wins. The trucks were built in Texas until the company ceased production and Navistar took over the factory.

The driver of the truck was very interesting and had a passion for many things vintage or veteran and he had an encyclopaedic knowledge of old Triumph Motorcycles.

Several more from my SD card

So to all of those who clearly went round the model show but didn’t introduce themselves, shame on you :frowning:

Except Extrucker who indeed did and shall forever be a shining light of Trucknet politeness!

And yes, I was wearing a badge that said Lonewolf with the same pic on as is over there on the left!

I struggled to see a lot of the model show; some people spend ages looking at the same thing! The photo sellers was a similar experience, some people must take hours going through them…
