Gay lorry drivers......Whats the deal?

ashbyspannerman:
so many replies but still no answer to the original post. why is there so much ‘gay’ gaffiti in these places, i’ve no objection to anyone’s preferences, but i cann’t remember seeing much ‘straight’ graffitti!

Because if you’re looking for laydeez then there’s not a lot of point scribbling your name/number on the gents walls

I wonder if there is similar style lesbian “graffiti” in truckstop ladies toilets?

Probably because people are like sheep and can’t think for them self so like to follow the herd. Someone sees one bit of possibly genuine graffiti requesting some ‘man on man action’ and they add a bit of fake graffiti of their own, using their mates number for ‘a laugh’. The next person with a pen sees two bits of ‘gay’ graffiti and doesn’t want to feel left out so adds his own witticisms to the wall. Before long someone else with a pen and too much time on their hands thinks they have a better/cruder/funnier thing to add to the collection, and after all there are already three examples on the wall so it can’t hurt. The next person adds a drawing to illustrate the contents of one of the messages, just to aid those who have led a sheltered life understand exactly what is being requested. A little while later another bloke sitting there with time to kill decides he can do better than the examples already there so he… Well you see the pattern here?

Mike_:
A gay mate of mine used to get beaten up in school by the same guy over and over - this guy was an obsessive gay hater… Several years later, guess who’s hitting on him in a gay bar? Yep, that same guy

Yeah i’ve heard of that happening before. One that I know of was the guy was a gay basher when he was younger and years later split from his fiancee and went of with a guy! And now the ex-basher is the nicest fella you’ll ever meet!!

I think that both peer pressure and hearing homophobic remarks from the “knuckle draggers” makes it so difficult to come to terms with your ■■■■■■■■■ when you are younger, and so many choose to leave it to years later down the line to “Come out”.

Ok, we are 24 hours into a topic, it has reached four (4) pages of text and some pics in that time…what is going on?
Is it that interesting…do we care?

Obviously some people do as they have taken time to read and post on the subject… like yourself. :unamused:

Trubrit:
crap…this is worse than…Ignore this…thanks :open_mouth:

Thats something you should have done…Ignored it.

these gaybys are getting a problem…i get called out to layby’s by huge burly truck drivers on the pretence of a brake chamber leaking or a wheel bearing failed…the last one being a few mile off the a14 nr junction 13,about 11pm…i drive up the road for a while and there it is parked up wth hazards on…i pull in…after a few minutes the hazards get switched off…just the truck and my van…both with sidelights on…i’m underneath the trailer burning off the crusty old chamber and come back out and it’s like piccadily circus, there are cars there, vans, campers…someone selling ice cream…by the time i’d fitted the ■■■■■■■ brake chamber i bet any one of the gay by crew could do one as well.
real scary… :open_mouth:
and they are everywhere…one of the other fitters overheated in his van…he pulled off the m6 at junction4 and turned left, pulls in 1st layby(before they were removed because of this sort of thing)…he’s all dressed in army gear as he’s on his way to a TA thing…i’m sent to pick up his van…i pull up to same layby and see a brawl going on between our man and about 6 hangerabouter’ers…they all call the plods for back up by which time we’re gone…on the way back on the other side of the road we see the plods there…never heard anything of it though…they’d told him he looked nice in the army getup and did he fancy some ■■■■…did he ■■■■ as like.

Once, a few years back, I went to a talent contest that a mates band were playing in, it was held in a church hall and the vicar decided to make a speech type thing before it all started.

I dont remember much of it but I do remember him saying possibly the best line ever in a sermon “At the end of the day, it was Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve”

Just thought I’d chuck that in there.

Alex

P.S Not homophobic, I’ve got mates who are gay!..but not that close mates, you know… just mates…

I’ll stop digging now…

(oh christ it gets worse!)

At the end of the day, it was Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve"

   absoloute class…

you are right… :frowning:

As always with you lot your still talking ■■■■■■■■…Lanky…stand your ground

Magnum…-we all know blokes like seeing ■■■■■■■ girl…when i said gay…pretty obvious what gender i was referring to… :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Mike_…check again…cos i promise you it certainly wasn’t me whom made that statement you quoted…but it does bring on to a point i must make…

Now people…lets get our little brains working…
…if a man of say 20 odd…sleeps with a girl…14yrs old (and she consents)…or a brother and sister sleep together…and claim to be in a loving relationship…etc…etc…the list could go on and on…

Upon hearing this…before even think about the law…the first thing that would come into most peoples minds is that it was…
…DISGUSTING :imp: :imp: :imp: :imp: :imp: :imp:… …

Why■■?..It’s cos thats what most people believing…and to what they find morally wrong…
It’s certainly not a question of them questioning their ■■■■■■■■■…
Nobody in their right mind wants to sleep with their sister or brother…it’s in your mental system that such ■■■■ is not on…it’s your sibling you don’t think that way…or sleeping with a 14yr…NO :imp: …wrong :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: …she is still a child

When such subjects are brought to your attention via the news…or just general gossip…Most people have a mental thought of what happens …which their moral mental system quickly shuts that down…so it’s just a blur…they don’t want to think about it…
The people involved are seen as offensive…and disgusting…(ok maybe the 14yr/old maybe seen as the victim)…even if outside such activities they are really nice people.

Hence …when your presented with this male gay crap…your mind reminds you what these people get up to…and the funny boy walk…once again moral mental system say’s …it’s ■■■■■■■…
…WRONG :imp: :imp: :imp: :imp: :imp: :imp:
Nothing to do with questioning your own ■■■■■■■■■…

Yeah…Yeah you’ll get a few people whom switch over…and thats where this little (repeated a million time) weak argument for the gays comes from…but most blokes whom object…stay on the correct side.

BTW: Still in quite a few countries around the world…being gay is a big NO! NO!  …do all the men there have a problem with their ■■■■■■■■■…

My attitude is simply…USA army style…
We won’t ask…You don’t tell…
Sounds fair and respectful to me

Whilst most of us find what goes on in layby’s late at night a nuisance i think its worth mentioning the number of times i’ve been disturbed on industrial estates by drug crazed prostitutes. Is that any better?
Back to the main point gays have always and will always meet in toilets which is a shame because its a major reason they get closed down so us truckers suffer the indignity of ■■■■■■■■ in plastic bags. Graffiti also has always appeared in toilets.
I’ve never witnessed any gay action in toilets and i don’t think it’d bother me if i did i’m happy with who i am.
Apparantly 10% of the population has gay tendencies and i think those that protest the loudest are worried.

Reading SuperSmiley’s rantette, and referring to the original question of “Why ?” (assuming it was a genuine question of “Why ?” here’s something I remember reading/hearing some time ago.

Men are generally more promiscuous than women. In so much as they (men) are more or less always “available” and “ready” for ■■■.

By looking at it from a homosexual angle - that promiscuity would therefore be (at least) doubled.

A thought about the “Why ?” if nothing else.

Dambuster my point was in reference too questioning ones own ■■■■■■■■■…I’ve made my point about the disgusting graffiti…clear earlier… and being more available for ■■■ is still no excuse for such stuff…that offends others

dambuster:
By looking at it from a homosexual angle -.

What on earth is one of those!? :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

I dont think you want to know! Or do you?

Oooooooh Clarky you are awfull…

LOL, willie someone was gonna do it so I thought I would “slip it in” there first!

If you’re happy with your own ■■■■■■■■■ then what anybody else is should not be a problem :arrow_right: those who think and try and make a big deal out of it are probably more than a little ‘bi-curious’ :unamused:
I mean what have they got to be affraid of, getting found out

SuperSmiley:
Magnum…-we all know blokes like seeing ■■■■■■■ girl…

I wouldn’t agree with you… quite a few straight guys I know hate it. They find it boring and lacking “action”.

SuperSmiley:

No its not, Gay can mean a Homosexual Male or a Homosexual Female. ie: having a ■■■■■■ orientation to persons of the same ■■■.

SuperSmiley:
BTW: Still in quite a few countries around the world…being gay is a big NO! NO!  …do all the men there have a problem with their ■■■■■■■■■…

I’d say they wouldn’t have a problem with their ■■■■■■■■■, not every gay person is the stereotype you are thinking of ie: “Funny boy walk” and therefore can live their life like a straight person in their country.

SuperSmiley:
My attitude is simply…USA army style…

I agree with you to a certain extent, people should not have to suffer the embarrasment of declaring their ■■■■■■■■■ against their will.

However if someone you have known for years does tell you they are gay, is it going to make you feel any different about them, eg: their personality, sense of humor, and the friendship that you’ve had with them for years?

SuperSmiley

My apologies. I think I may have mis-read or misunderstood something.

But magnumboy has more or less answered as I would have done. Apart from the “some countries” point. In some countries, homosexuals (of both gender) are still persecuted due to their ■■■■■■■■■, it is therefore more hidden.

In general

While I have strong feeling against homophobia (in the sense that its usually expressed as, and by bullying and ridicule) I would agree that some of the “Gay” graffiti would, could and should be described as offensive. Although - what you might find offensive, I might not - in the same way as I find some of the attitudes displayed here offensive, but you wouldn’t. (“you” - pronoun “one”)

And in general, I would say to many of the “men” posting in this thread “Before you criticise or verbally attack someone, walk a mile in their shoes”

That way, when they turn on you, you’ll be a mile away from them.

And…

you’ll have their shoes.

This I find an interesting question.

I’d be interested to hear some answers, but would add - Not only someone you’ve known for years, but also sons, nephews, cousins, fathers, uncles etc ■■?
