CS gas or pepper spray can not knock you out.
It only irritates the eyes and stings.The Police use it.
You can buy it legaly all over Europe in truckstops.

Anybody got an opinion on the spate of gassings which occurred primarily in Belgium in the 90s.Drivers were knocked out while asleepwith cs gas blown up n/heater exhausts, door locks were drilled out,money and cards were stolen and drivers wallets were left on drivers footstep.All kinds of rumours circulated as to why they were never caught the main one from the police being,the gangs were highly organized,posted look outs with mobile phones who rang ahead of police,thus giving gangs time to escape.I hasten to add it never happened me.

A night heater works by heating air from the cab, exchanging heat from the combustion area, therefore the exhaust isn’t open to the cab.
Surely if it’s CS gas you’d wake up coughing and with eyes streaming, rather than sleeping through it, it’s not used for riot control for its antithetic affects.

There seem to be persistent reports of these incidents and eventually there is likely to be a death or permanent brain injury.
I think that’s the problem, there are persistent reports of gassing yet there never seems to be any reports of death or serious injury, yet when the Russian forces used some sort of knockout gas to break a theatre siege in 2002 around 130 of the hostages died due to the ill effects of the gas.
I’m sure some of the reports are to cover up blowing the running money etc, but I’m sure there is something in the other reports, maybe as has been said spiked food or drink.

To be honest I’m not sure what to make of it, logic says that gassing somebody to the point of being unconscious in an uncontrolled environment and not having some of the victims suffering long term health effects is impossible, but plenty of people believe its happened to them and I wasn’t there when it happened to them so who am I to call them a liar?
I can honestly state, hand on heart, may God strike me down etc etc but it did happen to me and one of my ships crew members in Rotterdam while laying alongside the Parkade in March 2010 on a small ship called the Ardent. I had the report from the Dutch river police and the doctors who attended the vessel sating that we had been in fact been gassed and that an organised gang were responsible. They only stole small items and cash that could easily be concealed on their person so not to attract any attention, no laptops etc but mobile phones, cameras and the like went. If I find that report and have it translated into English I will post it up on here and you could draw your own conclusions. I also got paid out by the shipowner/manager to the tune of £683 for my losses incurred, and ship owners have never ever been noted for their generosity 
ps. the reason only the chief mate and I were affected was because the other three crew members cabin doors were locked but mine and his were not !!

Well, I’d be interested in seeing that. The trouble I have in believing it is that chemistry is a well understood science and there is simply no such thing as a readily available cheap and safe knock-out gas. It’s a bit like a truck driver telling me that he has anti-gravity tyres so his truck can float two feet above the ground. Basically, it’s just crap.

Could there then be another good and valid reasoning for the authorities to have taken so quick a response to my initial call, Doctor ■■ 
Could it not be something off the ship, some sort of mechanical or chemical leak gassing you Ray?
Perhaps the authorities were actually doing what they’re paid to do which is to respond in a speedy manner to a reported robbery with the hope of actually catching the perpetrators still in the area?

The police over there are always quick to respond not like the ones over here who take ages just to give you a crime number without even bothering to attend. Anything less than a murder or a politician being called a pratt and they don’t want to know …
And even they knew something went off, think they should’ve contacted the Trucknet experts first then they could have saved themselves the bother to come and then call in the medics

heard a rumour once of a bulgarian gang using carbon monixide to gas security guards at RDC across europe and then moving in and pulling out fully loaded trailers, very dangerous but high rewards when pulled off, plus carbon monxide is the cheapest gas out there and available anywhere you just need to know how to extract it, im no chemist but i reckon this is being kept quiet as not to publisie the idea to other gangs, if you were to get it wrong youde end up with a lot of dead bodies

There are several easily available gasses you can get that would render somebody in a confined space unconscious, all it needs to do is reduce the oxygen content by a certain amount, but the risks are the victims will suffer long term affects or die, but the reports never seem to say this.
happened to me !!!
there I was parked up in Antwerp handy for the schippersstraat,out for a small libation and a well deserved 9 hours off. 2 different bag houses and 17 pints of stella later,i toddled back to the cab for a quick kip in preparation of a quick skip down to zebrugge and the ferry home.much to my surprise and great consternation,i awoke to find myself in police custody covered in vomit,and also having peed myself.apparantly I was found hanging out the cab door upside down at 5 a.m randomly cursing at passersby ( obviously the ones who could understand cursing in drunkaneese) with my feet jammed in the steering wheel,when confronted by said constabulary I immediately asked him if he thought he was a hard case with his gun,and tried to hit him. after my arrest and eventually having to wait for an interpreter(they thought I was Russian instead of realising im from Glasgow) then they decided I was too much trouble for them due to the smell coming from me from 
stale urine,and staler vomit.plus by this time I had kakked myself due to whatever ailment had struck me down during the night,and returned me to the truck just in time for me to find out that I had no money left either.so I ask you…what else could have happened to me if I wasn’t gassed■■? the one good thing about the story was,that if they hadn’t kept me in custody,then id have made the old herald in time…there but for the grace of god. at least being gassed has its plus points sometimes.
Muckles : Can you name the chemical formulae for the gasses that you know of that can be available to the public ? What is the name of the gas that can be used , and where can you obtain it from ?
