I was a fan when he played for England,.he was excellent at Italia 90 for example.
Then he took over from Lynam on MOTD, and developed himself into a good presenter with a good football brain.

Talking of posting on social media, a lad at our place got the sack for posting up a very small political emblem or flag, the issue was it was on the company’s own website with photos of lorries at truck shows and they said their customers would see the flag.

Into football yes that was me along with a good buddy '60s, '70s and early '80s, living in Oxford an hour away from Loftus Road and QPR and Highfield Road with Coventry City home games on alternate Saturdays both in the then First Division. Saw some great players and 99% home grown talent back then. I wouldn’t deny Shearer the status he attained with a goal scoring record never to be bettered in the Premier Division. I can recall seeing another Magpie great Malcolm Macdonald a time or two.
