Good news for anyone who’s got a Garmin Dezl sat-nav: they’ve just updated the speed limits at last (nearly nine months after they came in). Took it for a ride down the Esher by-pass (dual carriageway, national speed limit) and it said 60 with the little truck symbol, so finally we’ve got accurate speed limits and ETAs.
Are good I’ll update mine tomoz cheers for the heads up
I forgot to mention; mine’s a 770. They usually update them all together but I didn’t also update my 560 to find out.
And the new update also has the correct mapping for the Dartford tunnel i.e. routes you back to junction 1B for access to the higher East tunnel when the vehicle height is over 4.8m.
Cheers

OK, but does it allow you 50mph on a single carriageway?
My Aguri allowed me 60 on dual carriageways since I bought it a couple of months ago, but it still shows a limit of 40mph on single carriageways.

It does indeed show 50mph on single carriageways. (However, some of the other oddities are still present, such as showing 30mph limits for trucks only on some roads, when such limits don’t exist, and showing 70mph on some slip roads and 50mph on others.)

I had several queries with my Aguri when it first arrived, despite it saying,“Use straight out of the box”!
Because it has a built in dash cam I couldn’t get it to work at the same time as navigating, and the guy I spoke to admitted he had written the user instructions which I had down loaded, all 48 pages of it!, but he’s forgotten to say how to get into some of the menu’s.
When I mentioned the new truck speed limits, he hadn’t a clue what I was talking about and could only say that the mapping system they use is Here Maps for Life, which several other sat nav suppliers use, but he couldn’t tell me if the speed limits were a function of the maps or the software. I have checked on the updates and there are no more updates available yet.
I found out last week when I delivered to our Mitchum depot that inside the M25 nearly every road shows an 18 tonne weight limit!
While the speed limit on d/carriageways has been observed, in most cases, most of the A500 through Stoke shows 40mph limit, which it was some years ago before the underpasses were built to eliminate the roundabouts.
