“One driver was found to be driving with alcohol on board, while over 300 had driven for longer periods than allowed.”

Is that illegal in UK as well to have alcohol on board?

If I would drive down to Italy cannot I bring some good bottle of wine for my girl from there? :frowning:

Sorry, its a glitch, which will be sorted soon.

i see the gardai over in holyhead getting trained up by vosa and vosa in ireland training them in.
its was a good run for years though.
ireland is/was the only country in europe where you had peace from the police.
be interesting to see what the next year brings with regards to tacho laws in ireland.
in 1986 i was driving for a company that expected any hours there was a load to deliver.
good job i was young and fit.
i showed tacho cards to the police and there was never anything done about it.i used to tell the police the truth in hope of getting change.
many irish and some english drivers will remember nestor.
he was the one.
he broke men and put them in early graves
he sacked me for refusing to go to cork for a second time in the one day.
cork was near 5hrs from dublin docks in those days before the new roads were built.

the gardai have always been fine as long as you didnt rub them up the wrong way, doesnt take much attitude for them to look harder
