is nearly upon us the question is do you want things to go back fully to how they were in terms of the job we do?
I’m looking squarely at RDC type waiting room situations here as it has been lovely being able to wait in the cab. Reckon that will last? I see no reason for it not to but hiw will that justify the job if some H&S type going forwards?

Yes. It’s a deliberate mistype to emphasise the way that it’s being built up by both media and government alike.
I like many wish to get back to “normal” and go back to football games among other stuff but I don’t feel the need to label it in such a way and with such fanfare as has happened.

I was in Tesco Livingston last Wed, the majority of guys were sat in their cabs, but when I went to hand my keys in to do the same there was an out 20 in sat with their eyeballs stuck out watching the screen like stressed out zombies so they didn’t waste a minute …s
So no, it will be shirt lived, those clowns will have spoiled it for everybody else as usual.
What bloody right has dictator’s puppet Johnson or any of His disciples to speak of allowing ‘‘freedom’’ that was never theirs to steal in the first place, just who the bloody hell do these people think they are, and more importantly why is anyone still listening to them.
Normal peoples rights to a normal life were never Johnson’s controller’s to take, if you surrendered your freedoms to Johnson’s Junta and the state enforcers once known as the police or any other jumped up apparatchiks with delusions of power you only have yourself to blame.
As for the RDC farce of corralling people like cattle, same method as with the govt dictators say bloody NO, don’t comply and tell them why you won’t, when they can’t get deliveries in and their business model goes flying they’ll soon change their methods.
This is the time to change everything that’s wrong in our industry, seize it with both hands.
I just genuinely don’t see any justification for pulling people back into a waiting room. I’ve not witnessed multitudes of bay releases or roll away incidents in the meantime.
But then we have the “in case there’s an emergency and we need to evacuate” excuse I guess.
I wish the traffic would sod off. Apparently it’s not just back to pre-pandemic levels, it’s at 103% during the week and 113% on weekends.
I’ll be glad to see the back of mask wearing indoors at work and people being able to understand what the other person is saying, the ending of only two people in the drivers lobby at a time so you’re stood outside in the rain getting wet whilst Bob has a chat with his mates behind the counter for 5 minutes…

There isn’t really any justification for ‘waiting room mandates’ to be brought back at RDCs, the places have operated just fine without any carnage since drivers have been back in their cabs.
It would sum it up really though if they did start to make drivers sit on plastic chairs again in a smelly room watching Loose Women on subtitles, just as the the industry is scratching it’s head wondering why they can’t retain drivers in the job.
I’m looking forward to not wearing masks under my glasses, but then again most places I frequent haven’t been particularly bothered for ages anyway.
If you end up back in waiting rooms that will be down to a fair few not following instructions , yes driver you can sit in your cab but can you sit in the passenger seat , thankyou , so what do some do , they sit in the drivers seat
But does it matter whether it’s a seat in the lorry or the drivers waiting room , most driver s just sit glued to there phone , in those case do the surroundings really matter ( lots are happy to hold a conversation whilst on the toilet) , so I’d of thought a Rdc waiting room would be a step up
Masks , I will continue to wear one , don’t care what boris has to say on the subject , or anyone else other that my doctors who say I’m at risk so will continue to protect myself as best I can
Tesco livingstone , I can only speak personally but it’s a bloody long walk from the bays they always put me on , and instead of keep having to walk all the way back 3/4 times for a pee i found it easier just to stop in the waiting room ,I always shut my eyes & have 40 winks , that way your not having to get stressed about what everyone else is doing , though I’m more than happy to pass the day with another driver as I was brought up to be not ignorant
I must get a job & back to work as this thread has make me realise I’m missing all the fun !!!
